Having coached a fair few junior basketball teams I can honestly say that when you have kids that age on a court with basketballs in hand if you aren't expecting them to be lobbing shots from half court, behind the backboard, at the scorebench or in the stands then you deserve what you get. A casual stroll across the courts having a chat is asking for a ball to the face in my opinion.
And she has no right to complain - if the ball had have gone in the basket off of her face then she'd be all like "Check out my shit, bitches" and high-fiving everyone in sight.
