I'm a fan on Simmons. I realize he is a huge blowhard, but he's a legitimate fan of the NBA and usually has some good original thoughts about the league. I could take or leave his takes on the other majors sports. He usually has good non-sports guests on his pods too.

It's pretty clear he has an eye for talent between Grantland and the Ringer and that talent enjoys working for/with him.

I let my ESPN Insider membership lapse because there was never anything I wanted to read. Now that I don't have it there are articles I want to read.

Finally gave that new Bill Simmons show on HBO a spin. It was surprisingly not good. He's just a bad host.

I plan to watch it after a few more episodes. Shows like that need 10-15 episodes to figure things out.

Yeah true

Just felt kinda underwhelming for a highly-advertised HBO show. Seemed more like a HBO youtube show :haha:
But I also just don't like Simmons' delivery

ESPN is ranking the greatest MLB players of all time. They have A-Rod ahead of Rickey Henderson. :/

How did Saunders die?

Have any of you ever sent a letter to the Simmons mailbag that got selected/published?

Not a mailbag, but he once quoted one of my e-mails in an article about the 2007 MLB playoffs (J.D. Drew related).
