McAvoy or whatever his name is did a great job, and the fast guy was surprisingly amusing. A few good parts otherwise, but nothing great.

SirPatStew and his BFF slept through the whole thing. Dinklage was inexplicably flat. Young Magneto was treated as a plot device throughout, changing his entire character pretty much into whatever it needed to be at the moment. The main turning point...when Blueberry tries to kill moustachio at the first big conference, pretty much played out as wacky moronic highjinks. The idea that the resulting fallout of that last fight on the White House would produce anything besides a crazed international mutant hunt is laughable.

That's a problem with the xmen universe you can't really write your way out of

Unless you argue the whole thing is staged so the government can come steal our guns

The humans will always be pliable and reactive in the xmen universe anyway. The assumption is that the agency lies with the mutants, and whether they're willing to be better than the world around them. Forgive our fears, not punish us for them, even though they could. When the mutants rise above the world makes space for them

The fact that 'realistically' the mutant registration/cure/protection programs are probably in the right has to be ignored or the world doesn't work

So, youre like one of the 8% of critiques or 5% of fans who did not enjoy the movie? according to Rotten Tomatoes

Can't believe this has been out for two weeks already and I've yet to see it. Surprisingly I really enjoyed First Class, but everything before that up to X2 was pretty much garbage. I have high hopes for this one and the critics/fans seem mostly elated with the result.

My "comic book friend" swears by Captain American and says X-Men isn't worth it. Thoughts?

Those weren't his exact words, but ... well, whatever.

I just saw Xmen this morning. The one thing I thought was, what was the point of breaking out Magneto? The sole thing he contributed was to be there when they stopped Mystique, so she could see Charles and Eric in the same room, but at that point Trask had already gotten away, and if she hadn't been forced to jump out the window, they'dve had forever to convince her to not kill him.

She wasnt going to follow Charles "hippy" approach to peaceful coexistence, but she would have listened to Magneto if he said "lay down your arms and surrender to me" The problem, is neither Wolverine or Charles convinced (or even tried to change) Mags

My roomies in the Winter Soldier camp too, I love the whole Cap/Bucky/Winter soldier story line in the comics, this came close to capturing it, BUT, I totally dont by Hydra taking over / infiltrating THAT much of Shield. The amount of people it takes to opperate ONE Helicarrier is huge, they had enough on all 3 to operate / control all 3? AND NO ONE notices till its too late? Marvels stuck in the "making everything a big problem" cycle. Its a Cap solo movie, he shouldnt HAVE to save the world, it should be character driven. (thats the one thing Mangold did right with The Wolverine solo movie)

I'll take X-men DoFP anyday over Cap-Winter Soldier. A Lot of the people ive talked too who are taking Cap, are the pro-Marvel / hating Fox's movies crowd who think that Marvel cant make a bad movie.

Hell, they coulda sent Wolverine back a day earlier, and he could have just talked Xavier off the sauce and then he could have controlled Mystique.

Also ...

Just a tiny sampling of why time travel stories have to not be this stupidly prepped in order to work.
