Ed Walsh and Ed Cicotte are on the mound tomorrow. They're gonna be too busy trying to keep their numbers stellar to bean Jason Kendall.

Royals have been bulking up against the other expansion teams, but got swept by the only old school team they played. I can't help but think their 6-2 record is a mirage of sorts.

Game 1 - tying run to the plate in the 9th
Game 2 - tying run to third in the 9th (bases loaded)
Game 4 - tying run to first in the 9th (with none out)
Game 7 - tying run to second in the 9th
Game 8 - tying run to second in the 9th

And I thought real-life baseball was frustrating!

Big Mac with the walk off in game 2! I think I need to move him further up in te lineup with all the walks he is getting.

Yeah, I believe he has.

Scratch that, he didn't pitch on day three.

Wagner and Bonds have been studs throughout. Stargell was a giant oaf prior to these last 2 games. Too bad I can't get Arky Vaughan in as a starter. No way I'm subbing him in for Wagner.

Now, if I could only remedy my pitching staff. Really should've looked for some long relievers. This sim just leaves my starting pitchers in there to get pounded.

I went with one of the best long-relief seasons of all times and he hasn't thrown an inning yet. I think they just try to get as much out of the starters as possible every game.

I can't even begin to understand the method by which they use the bullpens. I probably spent more time trying to build my pen then anything else though, just in case.

If they can keep it up, Walsh & Cicotte are gonna be a pretty daunting a 1-2 punch in a seven game series. They both face a huge test going up against McCutchen, Wagner, and Bonds tomorrow, though.

In a move that suggests the team has reached a point of desperation, the Toronto Blue Jays have announced that former catching prospect Carlos Delgado will be inserted into the lineup as the catcher for both games of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs because why the hell not.

In a second move, the Jays have informed league commissioner Lament that Jimmy Key, not Dave Stieb, is scheduled to pitch in game two, but that David Wells will be inserted into that spot instead.

More details to follow.

I'll be eyeing some lineup changes for the Stros when I do up the spreadsheet this weekend.
