Yerp.

But not a complete disaster. Could have something. Cautiously optimistic?

I think Ben Affleck's batman could be pretty good. Just minimal interest in seeing him with superman.

Does anyone really like Superman anymore? He's like the John Cena of superheroes - an overpowered, goody two-shoes. Does anyone really want to see that these days?

I think Grant Morrison's All Star Superman is a good example of a well written Superman story, and how he can be an effective character even as a super-god. I also think some of the best Batman stories over the years have included Superman in some capacity, their extreme contrasts make their interactions a lot of fun. Like Stip, I am wary of how this will translate to the big screen, but unlike Stip, it's precisely because of who's at the helm on this flick.

Grant Morrison makes pretty much any character he touches more interesting. All Star Superman, Final Crisis, or a condensed version of the Batman and Son/Black Glove/RIP arc would make fun movies.

I watched a good quality version of the trailer. I actually like the aesthetic of it, and I'm a fan of synder's visual style (not necessarily his storytelling--I liked watchmen but not any of his other movies). But when Superman and Batman face off why doesn't superman just pick up batman and chuck him a few miles away? or into space? Or punch him through several buildings? Or use his laser eyes? Or hit him with a dump truck?

I really like how Bats sounds like Jigsaw. I'm hoping at some point he says "I want to play a game".

I like to imagine Superman thowring a 20lbs gym weight at the speed of sound with a blasé attitude.

Like Stip I'm wondering why the trailer didn't show their entire fight.

My 8 year old is really into the Batman '66 show. I guess it would be pretty inaccurate to say it still holds up since it never held up but they are a shit load of fun. I remember watching them after school with the Brady Bunch in a massive power hour!

Yes! The show knew exactly what it was and played right into it. I adore that show and it's still a blast to watch.

In the comic book series this is 'loosely' based a nuke goes off which blocks out the sun, greatly weakening superman. This helps keep the fight from being absurd. Also Batman has a suit lined with some special kryptonite he's been developing for years.
