my guess setlist wise is:
SYMM
Remedy
Thorn
Wiser
Soul Singing
Sting Me
well known cover song
with obviously the last 6 being in whatever order they choose...I do wish they had picked a better opener than Dirty Honey (though given shared management, not surprising)
first night set, I pretty much nailed it except there being no covers, though Go Faster and HHB are kind of surprising
Twice As Hard
Jealous Again
Sister Luck
Could I've Been So Blind?
Seeing Things
Hard To Handle
Thick 'n' Thin
She Talks to Angels
Struttin' Blues
Stare It Cold
No Speak, No Slave
Go Faster
Hotel Illness
High-Head Blues
Good Friday
Wiser Time
Thorn in My Pride
Sting Me
Soul Singing
Remedy

Ugh.
Man if it were the actual black crowes that would excite me.
Without Gorman that setlist just angers me.

local show is this Saturday...if I end up with free tickets from the radio station, I'll go. Otherwise I'll stay home. Same rule I had with GNR in 2016 (which I did go to without giving Axl a dime of my money)
That being said, one minute into the video of the opening song from last night my first thought was "wow, the dog from Family Guy is infinitely better at drumming for the Black Crowes than Bill Dobrow in 2005 or the other clown they temporarily had in 2019"

Seeing them Sunday night in Hartford. I’m pretty excited. If they don’t play Thorn in my Side I will be upset but otherwise I’m cool with them playing the first album and whatever else.

agreed, but at least it seems like they found a guy who can actually you know, play the material
unlike 2005 and the very short stint in 2019

I just listened to the whole Nashville show. They got better as the show went on. SYMM sounded a little listless or flat compared to the show on the re-issue. Good Friday and Go Faster sounded great. Drummer is solid but he still doesn't accent near as well as Gorman and that may be the cause of some songs sounding a touch flat.

fuck I'm on the fence so bad. Listening to night 1 of the Atlanta Taberacle shows from the Goodnight to the Bad Guys tour. Damn so good.

I will admit I almost caved and bought a ticket off StubHub for last night, but that has as much to do as it's been 18 months since I've seen ANY show and I'm jonesing bad for one
If this has been a year ago with the shit drummer they had originally recruited? Zero interest lol

Saw my first Black Crowes concert tonight and I have to say, they exceeded my expectations. Jammed out more than I thought they would, sounded great…

No.
I miss the crowes so much. The band actually sounds pretty good (though something is missing) and i wish i went to red rocks.

the band sounds ok, but there's been some trainwreck performances (I saw some video of Sting Me that was even worse than the bad version I saw of As the Crow Flies with Marcus King at one point).
at this point I've accepted that the likelihood of the band I fell in love with (or a reasonable representation thereof) will never exist again...but I'm willing to see what Chris/Rich can do together again in terms of new material

The band was better than I expected for the most part. The new guys are clearly much much tighter playing SYMM which is no surprise with how they have structured the show. Some of the other songs they just sort of get through. Sting Me has never been a favorite of mine but it was the weakest performance of the night by far. Thorn in my Pride was killer but Rich carried that. Drums were fine but Gorman is clearly missed. Chris' vocals actually sounded great but for some reason he reminded me of Rod Stewart last night.
Really was just great to see a concert again but with as many times as I have seen them in the past I can't deny that I feel similar to you in the fact that something is missing. I know they won't bring Marc Ford back or anything but I do hold out a little hope that if they get back in the studio and write a quality album they will find a better guitar player to compliment Rich.
