are you going to use their first 4 years or all 8 years?
I would look at the full 8 years and half it for comparison purposes.
Is this your only issue? Where do you stand on right to life? Cause that seems to be the big single issue this election.
I'm Canadian, one of two countries n the world with zero restrictions on abortion. I have no skin in the right to life game.

Trump is an awful person, who has tried to do many awful things. Thankfully he has been stopped more often than not. Biden seems like a generally good guy, if a little touchy feely with women.
It is absolutely amazing that you can make it sound like Biden is the worst of the two here in this comparison with Donald Trump.
Depends on which bombed out third world shit hole you live in.

Are there these little Trump pop-up stores where any of you live? I see them a lot around here lately. Just tents selling flags and junk. They don't seem legal. Someone is making some cash.

I don't know, that's why I am asking where I can find figures. The US under an Obama/Biden presidency has a pretty high death toll but I don't know the numbers. I'd like to be able to compare this aspect of two presidencies. I am not advocating for one or the other.

It’s hard to say, because this administration has adopted a policy of not sharing information, but just from what little is out there I wouldn’t be in such a rush to make such a bet.
According to a 2018 report in The Daily Beast, Obama launched 186 drone strikes in Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan during his first two years in office. In Trump’s first two years, he launched 238.

The Trump administration has carried out 176 strikes in Yemen in just two years, compared with 154 there during all eight years of Obama’s tenure, according to a count by The Associated Press and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
2017 was the deadliest year for civilian casualties in Iraq and Syria, with as many as 6,000 people killed in strikes conducted by the U.S.-led coalition, according to the watchdog group Airwars.

That is an increase of more than 200 percent over the previous year.

It is far more if you add in countries like Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia and many others. The figure results, according to Daphne Eviatar, a director of Amnesty International USA., from “hugely expanding the use of drone and airstrikes, including outside of war zones, and increasing civilian casualties in the process.”

Eviatar, and others who monitor these issues, deplore not only the deaths of innocent people but also the government secrecy that has worsened significantly over the past year.
The Pentagon no longer reveals, she said, “even the legal and policy framework the U.S. uses to guide these lethal strikes.”

That makes the role of dogged reporting even more important.

A recent New York Times article revealed that the United States launched eight airstrikes against the Islamic State in Libya, but disclosed only four.
According to United Nations figures, the U.S. and its local allies have actually killed more civilians in Afghanistan this year (2018) than the Taliban.

Can't believe that asshole would acknowledge that "essential workers" are disproportionately minority. What a fool.

I haven't seen this on any major news outlet and someone in a twitter feed posted a transcript where this quote was taken out of text.

gonna go ahead and ask all the non-US posters to stand down from this thread for the next 28 days and let the grown-ups do the talking

you'll have plenty of time to remind us how you are from [X country] that is better than the U.S. and you [don't understand / don't have / are appalled by] America's problems, on November 4th

until then

time to fuck off back to the House of Commons

Today was actually the first day new covid cases in the EU exceeded the total in the United States. It's almost as if lockdowns don't work.

Given the title of this thread - I'll take this time to point out we've got an election happening this month, so I'll happily keep posting. :finger:

Jacinda or Judith. From the outside Jacinda seems a shoe in. She's dealt with the pandemic and the country's worst massacre with aplomb. Yet media reports that it's not a clear cut victory for her even with high approval ratings.

How so, guys?

Neither. I'm voting third party. Jacinda will definitely still be PM after the election. Unless you've completely screwed the handling of this pandemic it's pretty much your ticket to another term

A vote for a third party is a vote for Jacinda and/or Judith. Whichever is the bad one.

Not so much with our preference system.

And numbers - get fucked.
