Contracts with this new cap are all going to look insane. That deal in particular would equate to like 7.5 million a year under the old cap rules. Still a lot for Delly, but not an extreme overpay.

It is an overpay because he sucks. Guys like Harrison Barnes and Delly always look like they deserve some cash while on their super teams and then show their true colors on their new (usually shitty) team. Barnes specifically is going to be a total joke as a max guy.

The Bucks should sign Etwaun Moore instead. He would have looked like a God on that Cleveland team....

Man, I hope the Warriors don't resign Barnes to a huge contract. He was worthless for several games this postseason.

Man in the playoffs the Heat made Jeremy Lin look great. For most of that series we had no answer for him.

Lin was solid this year for Charlotte. Can't blame him for wanting a new longish contract with the new cap.

Lin was on a cheap deal. He's worth way more after last season's play even without the cap jump. I wanted Lin last offseason but the Bulls wanted Aaron Brooks (for more money!).

The difference between what guys like KD and LeBron can make by either signing a long-term deal now or waiting one more year is pretty crazy. If they wait one year they'll be well over $200m total and at about $38m annually or so. If they sign a long term deal now it'll be about $60m less.

Then again, we'll probably have a nice long lockout next year as the league tries to slow down skyrocketing salaries.

I don't think the lockout will cancel any games. Way too much money out there for all parties right now.

I think that anyone with a pulse would opt out this year. So many teams are going to have cap space burning a hole in their pocket. When teams feel like they HAVE to do something, they overspend on bad players like Josh Smith, Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon.
