I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I actually consider that part of the gritty realism. It's like mid-January, everybody knows the Eagles are done for the year.

there wasn’t one jersey in the scene at the house after the old lady’s funeral, and we both know they’re standard formal wear in lower class philly.

You'd have a point if it was Mare of Synder Avenue, but Easttown is not Philly, it is the Philadelphia metro area. :)

Finally caught up on this show and read through this thread. Of all the takes, this is the wrongest. It's somehow startlingly wronger than trag's Siobhan takes. Which is impressive.

However, you're dead right about how poorly written this last episode was. It was especially bad because of how brilliantly written the rest of the show is. Felt like I was watching a totally different show.

Mare is decent, looking forward to seeing how it wraps up. Sometimes these "shocking" crime dramas are too long though. Other than season 1 of True Detective and The Killing, (both of those are top of the genre) I get bored in the middle of it all. Make a movie out of it.
