Makes the Whiteside contract look like a steal.

I know the cap is exploding and all that so it'll take some time to figure out which of these contracts are really bad and which are simply the new reality but man there are some scrubs getting PAID today.

If Durant opts to stay in OKC for just 1-year, coupled with next year's potentially huge crop of free agents, at this point, I'm hoping the C's show restraint and do not give those two max contracts to guys like Howard or Horford. Patience is key.

I'd be surprised if they get anyone of note. Everyone will get scooped up while they wait on Durant. Maybe they give Howard a 2 year with a team option on the second year but I doubt it. It will be the same team as last year with the whole Brooklyn picks could be good next year talk to keep the fans from revolting. Its their own fault for promising big things.

Boston Herald reports that C's will offer a max deal to Horford tonight regardless of what happens with Durant.

It'd be nice if they got him. At least show someone good is willing to go there. I'd happily pay him 10 mil a year more than Evan Turner. He'll choose somewhere else though.

My feelings aside it's a stupid move for a rebuilding team. The narrative when they dumped Derrick was we want to get younger and more athletic. Ok great. How does signing a pretty close to toast Wade help the team move in that direction? Garpax have no idea what they are doing. Just making it up as they go.
