Maybe that's the genius of it. Everybody's trying to figure out how to defend the 3 so load up with guys who can't shoot if their lives depended on it.


Yeah, it's almost certainly a leverage thing. I could see the Bucks or Knicks going after Wade...the Bulls not so much.

To me the best situation for him from a pure basketball standpoint is the Clippers. Still obviously feel he will return to Okc. Pretty good team and allows him to really cash in next year as other have pointed out here.

So the Celtics snagged Horford. They're looking pretty strong as the second best team in the conference at the moment.

Nice glad I was wrong. Hopefully it will work out better than the last big free agent they got.

I followed this whole thing live on Twitter along with a bunch of other fans. Crazy because we all saw Woj's Tweet that he said he was staying in ATL and then a few minutes later came the big news. Amazing that the C's fans apparently played a role in his decision making:

In Atlanta, support at home games was sometimes tepid, despite the fact that the Hawks had gone 108-56 over the last two years.

“There wasn’t as much motivation for him when he saw all the empty seats when they were winning,” Tito Horford said. “He said to me, ‘Dad, when we were playing Boston, they were down 15 points and they were cheering their team like they were winning the game. They’re so into the game.’ This is special for us, especially for him.”

The fact that KD flew to Boston Friday and then flew w/ Brady down to the Hamptons on Sat on his way to the Spurs meeting...I dunno. Something funky there. And now we hear that KD played some ball at Marky Mark's new house, too.

What's sort of hilarious in this is that the interest for the NBA in Atlanta is generally 3rd highest in the nation when you look at TV market share. Basically there just aren't enough people who care to go see an also ran Hawks team on a nightly basis. The Celtics have what 6 or 7 generations of fans, stars and championships. It's just another excuse really. I wanted him back, but it's not like he's some difference making player. I like him a lot more that Dwight but good for him I guess. Good luck to him. He'll probably continue to be a very good player for 3 more years.

Regular season success doesn't matter.... Ever. That is not winning.

Hawks get worse C's get better.... Same old same old....we're back to the early 90's and Dominique.
