I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. If I'm honest, I haven't felt so euphoric about a Wes Anderson film as I did watching Asteroid City. But that could be recency bias, I'd have to rewatch a bunch of his older stuff

Rewatching Once Upon a Time in the West and I can't understand why people think this is anywhere near as good as The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Sure, the photography and sets are beautiful, but otherwise its just ok. It's lacking Leone's style in favor of a more straightforward western. Bronson, Fonda and Robards can't hold a candle to Eastwood, Wallach and Van Cleef. The hokey soundtrack doesn't remotely compare. The comedy isn't as sharp and it generally lacks the edge of a spaghetti western. Even the grand sets fail to make it feel as epic and sweeping as GBU.

Also, why does Bronson get shot in the beginning? It serves no story purpose, and basically makes the character feel like a shittier version of Blondie. Lots of weird little story choices like that.
