This is probably isn't helpful, but if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say you have a moderate-to-poor chance at number 1, a very small chance at number 2 and zero on the rest.

Good luck!

She's older than me and did it on her own.

No it's not helpful at all but I actually think this long wait might be in my favor. My logic there is that if I flat-out lost, I would have known by now. But maybe, just maybe, I'm in a long line of people waiting to have their credit cards charged.

The Ten Club could probably stand to tweak the procedure here. Maybe limiting everyone to one show is a good thing. Maybe if you miss out on your number 1 choice your number 2 choice should be treated as a number 1 ranked pick in that drawing. And keep treating your highest rank pick as a number 1 pick until you either get drawn or exhaust your options.

Wouldn't that be unfair to those who've already selected preference 1 for that show?

I think your explanation is how a lot of people presume it works and it clearly doesn't.

That, or they hate you and want you to suffer before they let you down.

Would you want to meet some of the fans on the pearl jam message boards if you were them? lol
you going to the Buffalo show, pal?
Just one show this year; San Diego, and only cause it's 10 miles away. Just not excited by it anymore, similar to what Jorge wrote in his article.

I was at the Tampa show in 2008 with my (at the time) girlfriend, who had really no interest in Pearl Jam but was big into following fashion. We were sitting in our seats on the floor when she grabbed my arm and was like "OH MY GOD THAT WOMAN IS WEARING (fill in the blank expensive brand) SHOES!" I looked over out of obligation and laughed and said, "That's Jill McCormick, Ed's wife." We sat there and watched a stream of your stereotypical looking PJ-internet dudes (guys in jerseys with "VEDDER 10" on the back and stuff like that) come up and try to engage her in conversation. To her credit, she didn't smack anyone (she was holding their daughter, so I wouldn't have blamed her if she was like "GET THE FUCK AWAY!") and appeared to be rather polite. I couldn't help but wondering what the fuck on earth any of these people would have had to talk to her about. It was really creepy.
What's sad is from 1996 to maybe 2000 I probably would have been one of those people though never asking for a photo or autograph or anything. But yah. However I was 17-21 years old then so that's my excuse.

I find it amazing I now agree w/ almost everything you post re: Pearl Jam these days.
Look how far we've come.
And this coming from the 2 guys who NEVER got shut out of the F5 system. Shit, I got TWO pairs for Vic w/ mine and my friends membership!!!

Yeah, I had a decade long stretch of getting tickets to every show I wanted.

Y'know, I just read through the policy, and it's not at all clear why it means for you to designate a first and second choice. Does your first choice get your priority over those that chose it as a second? Maybe. If you don't get your first choice, are you more likely to get your second choice than those who put that as their first? If so, how in god's name is that possible? What order are these shows chosen? What if my 3rd choice is picked first, but I wasn't in that drawing b/c I was eliminated from my other choices?

What the fuck? How the fuck does this shit work? My brain is too tiny.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Have to say I'm pretty damn surprised. I got GA tickets for Pittsburgh, my first choice. I had just recently rejoined 10C after not being a member for a good three years or so.

Here's some of my previous posts, hopefully this makes it clearer:

Here's the choices that guy posted a few pages back:
1) Brooklyn Night 2 - Reserved
2) Brooklyn Night 2 - Floor
3) Brooklyn Night 1 - Reserved
4) Brooklyn Night 1 - Floor
5) Hartford - Reserved
6) Hartford - Floor
His best shot is at choice 1 but, even then, that's far from certain since the NYC shows will be in very high demand. 10C have already confirmed that the GA sections have significantly less tickets available than reserved, so I imagine the GA section on both NYC shows (and most others) will be sold out on first preferences alone. As such, he's throwing away choices 2 and 4 as there's almost zero chance of him getting picked. Being selected for choice 3 is only possible if there are still 10C tickets left after everyone who put Brooklyn Night 1 Reserved at preference 1 and preference 2 has already been selected; that seems like a pretty slim chance to me. Same for choice 5: this guy only stands a chance if there are still tickets remaining once everyone who put Hartford Reserved at pref 1, 2, 3 and 4 has been selected. Again, I'm rather pessimistic. If he really wants to go to both Brooklyn 2 and Hartford, I'd be putting them at pref 1 and 2 and hoping for the best.

Lament wrote:Also, you'd be amazed how many people still think they just put all of the names in a hat, pick out a set, and then try to give everyone their highest option available. I have no idea why anyone thinks this, but there are a lot of people who think this is how it works.
Haha, yes, I've seen this a lot. It's no mystery, 10C have actually made it pretty clear:
Q: How does the show priority selection factor in to the drawing?

A: For each show we will randomly draw members who have made that show their #1 priority. If any tickets remain the system will randomly draw names of members who have chosen that show as their #2 priority, and so on until every ticket for a given show has been sold.

No idea. I re-read the rules a few times and came out more confused.

See above. It's actually pretty straight-forward.
