Yeah, that's a great moment/transition.

Severed Hand is still one of my favorite songs. its one of the few songs i remember the first time i heard it. talk about a "holy shit" moment. it completely floored me. i still love everything about it.

Matt's drums are so good here. Jeff too. This Spotify mix is so much better with this song.
I should listen to this album on Spotify soon, with my new headphones. I'm not an audio guy or a musician, so maybe it'll all go right over my head. But I'm curious if I might have a slightly different experience than what I remember.
there is so much room and lots of things that went unnoticed in the first mix. Its such a good mix.

Wasted Reprise is a beauty. I looooved when they opened their shows with this one followed by Life Wasted.

Oh Army Reserveeee i love you so much. The groove. I love how distant yet present the guitars are in this spotify mix. Its like you have three layers and they are all in different volume levels. The background vocals are so much better an noticeable.
Is mike doing those little patterns with the guitar? Those are beautiful. Again Matt is super tight and yet loose.

oh the outro is magnificent. Its PJ all locked it jamming. And Mike's solo is fuuuucking amazing.
Jesus Mike and Stone kills it in this album.

Come Back.
I get the idea that this song could be better if its was another band playing it. But this band puts something else and i actually feel it when i hear it. Its almost direct, i hear the intro and i feel something. Thats PJ right there.
Another track benefited by this mix. The drums are great, the keyboards are so well mixed and there are a few acoustic guitars appearing that are tasty.

I have no idea why Inside Job is not more popular. Its buildup is great. The acoustic guitar, the way the drums enter, and the keys...beautiful.
Ed's delivery is pretty cool.
The bridge is Led Zep and i looooove it.
I agree that Mike's solo is not outstanding...he should have come up with something as epic as Reach Down.
The lyrics are corny but again, its PJ and it works. There is magic here.

Well, ST might be flawed and a mixed bag, but its such a good album. I looove it everytime i listen to it. The Spotify mix is the best mix no question about it.
I think the only song i dont care much is Gone, and maybe Come Back. But still, i like them
Such a good album. And such an amazing era for the band.

yeah, i listened when it came out. And after that i listened to a few songs...its different. I would say that i dont like most of his choices really. His muting of the guitars in the jam of Severed Hand for example.

I just listened to Army Reserve spotify mix vs BoB and wow the BoB one is mixed so much worse! I had no idea about this until reading about it here. I’m using good headphones and damn it’s a lot like hearing the difference in production between LB and Gigaton. The spotify mix is opened up and clear. BoB’s is relatively muddy and muted.

With all the remastereds etc that are on spotify across the catalog, is there any kind of guide anywhere on which are the best to listen to?

I guess i need to get Spotify now?
I have a real fondness for this album. Its always been, for me at least, arguably the most consistent Pearl Jam album. The highs are not as high as other albums but the lows arn't there either.

Probably the Spotify one
yeah, the original one, because its the original. And i recommend it only on vinyl. And then the Spotify mix because its really helps the album to be better.
