You are mistaken
This is one of my favorite moments of the record.

these lyrics are excellent. It's a very smart song without being showy about it

Infallible has really grown on me since replacing FD as my album closer. It's such a different sounding track than the rest of the album so it almost gives it an All Those Yesterdays type vibe to close out the album. Thematically it is a nice way to end too (and that line "Time we best begin, here at the ending" is icing on the cake.).

Just listened to this from the 11-16 concert in Oklahoma. Fuckin' great live, much more laid back, groovy, fuzzy, warm. Better.

Yeah, I've listened to a few of the live versions and they sound pretty great. Its a bit heavier, with a real nice low end to it - loses some of the brightness from the album version - which is good by me.

I've warmed to this song considerably, but every time I walk away and remember it some time later, the version in my head is much more awesome. It has a different chorus melody and everything. When I play the actual version again I'm like "Oh yeah, that's how it goes."

This is a good live version. It has some of the grit we thought it would have based on the 'soundcheck song' (and some of Stone's reverberating guitar over the top, which I miss from that version) but also has aspects of the studio version. I wish the studio version had this noisier bridge, and that stop at the end.

Oh man I just listened to the version on the official PIttsburgh boot...
Brutal :\
This might be my favorite on record but down tuning does it absolutely no favors. Ed is flat and there is so sense of urgency. ouch

Im not sure if they improved throughout the tour, but that was the first time it was played, so it could have suffered because of that

THIS is the song I loved so, but was told at the Philly concerts that it was swallowed whole.
This song made me exclaim "holy fuck" both these times I heard it.

I listened to lightning bolt on repeat all of this past weekend
it's apparent most of it is gorgeous, or is hiding

Got to listen to this on an actual stero this morning. It's a really good song. I am curious about what a darker, dirtier chorus would have sounded like, but in many ways going in a brighter, more optimistic direction was the bolder move, given the subject matter. Plus I think Eddie sounds great on the chorus

It sort of makes me think of it as a fluffier Tremor Christ. Again, I really like the band here, but Eds vocals grate on me probably worse than any other song on LB.

Really can't warm to this song even now. The live erosion came on today and it was a chore

The chorus kills the song... Such a awful chorus to a great song...
