Generally speaking, all things being equal with the main set, a concert with a great encore is better than a concert with an average encore which is better than a concert with a bad encoRe which is better than concert with no encore. That show had no encore. Your suggestion is very odd. That's all.

Nope, i wasnt there...we were talking about unrrated shows, and of course thats one of them. Who care about the lenght? PJ first tour has some very shorts sets and they are pretty much all great. Amsterdam 92? you should check that one too.
St Paul has a particular vibe, they really rock out, but at the same time, every songs sounds awesome. And i guess thats the best live version of Life Wasted.

It's one of those shows where they were out to prove something, which doesn't happen very often anymore. It was the first show opening for Petty, they only had 80 minutes, and they just let loose with a tight, energetic, vibrant, downright impressive performance. I understand the desire for an encore, but for my money this is one of their best performances of the last ten years. And, yes, I was there, but it kind of exists separately for me as a boot than as the experience of being there.

Ditto. I love that Ottawa show. It might my #1 attended show. Toronto was the only show that I was sick at. It took some of the enjoyment out of it. However, it's only true deficiency, in my opinion, is on-stage guests. It was memorable but unnecessary. The only guest stars I enjoy are anyone for Hunger Strike or Ben Harper.

I can't find a copy of this Ottawa show. I boo that.

Hard to believe the 05 canada tour is almost a decade old now.

The 2005 and 2006 tours were the last, best tours we will see.

Although, the just complete Euro set seems pretty solid from what I've seen and heard. Much better that most of what I can recall over the last five years or so. Of course, it was only 12 shows, so sort of doesn't really count.

Wrigley. Corduroy is good. The experiment with the bridge was a bit awkward with the crowd not realizing it and singing it anyways, but it was an interesting change-up. Also, Stone does some really cool stuff at the end. Not the best version ever, but at least interesting.

Sorta like the show as a whole. Not one of the all-time greats, but interesting and at least good and certainly memorable for anyone there. If only they'd played Alive instead of Rockin' when they ran out of time at the end, I bet it would be held in higher regard. Seriously, you're at Wrigley Field. You run out of time and you choose to play a cover instead of your signature song just so you can sing "Cubs colors on the street, red white and blue?"

I just wish someone would have told us we could have left and re-entered. We stood behind/under the right field wall for like 3 hours or whatever. It was miserable.

I have to say, though, that the 1st five songs before the rain - Release/Nothingman/Present Tense/Hold On/Lowlight - were great. I remember thinking how epic the night was going to be. Then, fucking Come Back (piss break for me - thought I'd get it out of the way early), and Small Town (as its obvious that a storm's brewing), my night gets de-railed. I got back in my seat just to hear Eddie telling everyone on the field to vacate.

When we finally got back into it, again, the first series of tunes - All The Way/Ernie Banks ( ) / All Night / DTE / Setting Forth / Corduroy / Faithfull / MYM / LB debut - great set / great time.

After that, I was just exhausted. It was hard to enjoy it the way I wanted to.

I'm jealous of all of you who went to the Wrigley show and I don't get jealous easy.
