what is this supposed to mean?
We give teams hope with a game 7.
i thought he, a montreal fan, was trying to say the Bruins get away certain things that other teams get called for.

Dude, what about that ridiculous matching penalty that Campbell got for being pushed by Grabovski? Kelly had every right to elbow JVR as JVR wouldnt let him up. The referees were not the reason Toronto lost.

not to mention that it was absurd that Lucic got that roughing penalty when there was no matching penalty for Phaneuf. Whatever though, the Bruins are still playing and that's all that matters.

I think I was pretty clear that I'm not in any way blaming the refs. I specific blamed Toronto for not playing a more physical game when they had the chance. And I completely agree with you on the Campbell penalty and the Lucic penalty.
And just to clarify, this is your idea of JVR "not letting him up"? He's on him for less than one second when the elbow hits him. He hasn't even had a chance to try to get up himself.

He was clearly riding him, it's game 7, you cant expect to get that call. I'm glad the refs let that go, JVR was going to ride anyone again after that.

You have to be kidding.

that replay is awful, NESN had a much better close up of the play.

the only thing good about the flyers not being in the playoffs is the amount of $ ive saved by not buying beer every other night for the game.

The quality of the replay doesn't affect the amount of time JVR was on top of him, which was almost none and he was only on top of him because they both fell. For that he got an elbow in the face and a bloodied nose and lip. Fair trade, I guess.
Anyway, I don't get why this is me complaining about the refs. I said from the start that they were lenient and the Leafs didn't take advantage physically the way the Bruins did. It's 100% the Leafs fault.

The close up showed that JVR could have gotten up but wasnt and was holding Kelly down, Kelly then threw the elbow. I thought the refs were awful last night, at times letting everything go and then calling the game tight 5 minutes later. None of their calls really effected the outcome of the game though.

I couldn't disagree more on the JVR thing. Again, from the time they hit the ice until the time the elbow hits his face, less than a second passes. I don't see how you can perceive that as "holding him down".
Either way, I completely agree about the refs and never stated otherwise.

I think they both deserved a penalty. The puck was long past and never touched by Kelly when JVR hit him and then Kelly elbowed him in the face. It should have been two for interference on JVR and then two for elbowing on Kelly.
I was impressed with Toronto in the playoffs. They are still at the mercy of Reimer though. He needs his A game for Toronto to have a chance of winning. That's a lot of pressure game in, game out. Toronto did a great job exploiting the lack of speed on Boston's back end. I think the series would have been shorter with any puck luck at all for Seguin or Marchand. They were generating decent chances but got nothing until game 7 overtime.
If it were possible I would think the Boston NYR score would be -1 to 0. It's going to be a boring series. Lots of hitting and sideways skating but kind of boring.

I've wanted to make a "have fun with Luongo" joke at Phil's expense since Monday night, but A) I'm not convinced that Luongo is going to be the one traded and B) while Luongo would've held that lead if given it, with his psyche, especially in Boston of all places, there's no guarantee he wouldn't have crapped himself a whole lot sooner

It such a shame too because Reimer stole 2-3 games and gave them a chance in all but one of them. It's also hard to blame Reimer for one bad period (obviously it came at the absolute worst possible time) when the Leafs barely touched the puck or cleared the crease at any point in the last ten minutes of the game.
I am 100% confident in Reimer going forward as the Leafs starting goalie. What I don't understand is how so many people think the Leafs need Luongo to take over for Reimer after this one poor performance (despite what happened the rest of the series), yet everyone in Vancouver is happy to trade Luongo and go with Schneider despite how horrendous he was in his two games for Vancouver in the playoffs. Reimer is one of the youngest starting goalies in the NHL. There's absolutely no reason to think ten minutes of bad hockey will define his career or that he can't continue to improve. I'm sure Luongo was at least half joking with his #Reims4Sochi tweet, but which Canadian goalies were better than Reimer this year?

Corey Crawford, Ray Emery, Jonathon Bernier, Brian Elliott. I'd also take a look at Carey Price, Luongo and a couple others before I got to Reimer. I'd want to see him play a year and preferably two at the World Cup level before any consideration for Team Canada at the olympics.

Reimer gives up a lot of rebounds, but it almost seems like Toronto's defense takes this into account and makes it hard for the other teams to capitalize on them.
