So, those of you who are getting a PS4 or Xbox One at launch, what games are you picking up?
PS4 for me...
NBA 2k14
Resogun (free with PS plus)
Contrast (free with PS plus)
Assasin's Creed 4 (sometime before the end of the year)

Xbox One:
Dead Rising 3
COD: Ghosts
Zumba (for the lady friend)
I had Watch Dogs pre-ordered, and it was my most anticipated, but obviously it got pushed back. I haven't decided if I want to replace it with anything yet.

I'm kind of bummed about Watch Dogs being delayed but as Miyamoto famously said, "A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever."

Has anyone else played the new Bioshock Infinite DLC?
I'm loving it so far and I really don't care if it's short. I'm about 1:15 into the game and it feels like I have another hour or so to go (based on what I have read about the length).

I was about to go to the store to pick up a copy of The Last of Us and then noticed it will sell for $25 at Wal-mart on Black Friday...can't wait.
I did the same last year with Assassin's Creed III at Best Buy on Black Friday for 30 bucks.

Even though there are not a ton of games available at launch I am still totally fine with my order of the PS4. I have the cash and the price is going down anytime soon. Might as well be part of the conversation.

Haven't played Madden since 09 (first game I bought for PS3) and I have to say it's pretty meh on PS4. Receivers still seem completely unaware of the sidelines and never try and get 2 feet down, but that doesn't matter since the challenge system is a complete joke. You may as well flip a coin when challenging a play because what you actually see has no bearing on the outcome. Graphics wise the lighting is a step up and there's no jaggies, but compared to the silky smooth framerate of BF4 Madden looks like a PS3 game.
BF4 is glitchy as hell right now. There's some error that's corrupting save files of the campaign and also crashing the game randomly. The conquest servers aren't running, but the other online game modes are. Obliteration is pretty fun. Overall it's a HUGE step up from the ps3 version... when it works. Hopefully they get a patch out soon.

I look forward to getting my PS4 in 2020, when, theoretically, my first child will be starting pre-school; I assume most of the games I want to play will be patched by then.

Played some NBA 2k14 on my shiny new PS4 last night. The interface and download speeds are substantially faster on this thing. The game looked great too. I don't think the videos online do the graphical fidelity justice.

No, I read it was only affecting about .4% of systems. Seems pretty low to me.

I guess the .4% is the norm failure rate for electronics so if the number is true it's no biggie. IGN has a bunch of info on it. The Amazon reviews are useless on the subject. They are being flooded by people pretending their PS4's don't work. Odd thing that MS vs Sony fan boy stuff. Glad yours works!

I think the failure rate on most electronics is much, much higher than .4% so, if this figure is accurate, it is very low. And, yes, the fanboy dynamic is particularly stong (and annoying) in the gaming world. Silly.
I've had very limited time with my PS4 (it's a Christmas present for my boys, but I could not resist breaking the thing out of the box over the weekend

), but I'm very impressed by it so far. Everything seems much more polished than the PS3 did at luanch, and the console is insanely fast. The social gaming stuff is really well done, alhtough I don't see myself using it much beyond checking out the occasional stream to see what gameplay looks like for particular titles. My half hour or so with Killzone left me very excited for the graphical capabilities--it's hard to go back to the few PS3 games I'm trying to finish up after playing the PS4!

Yeah I guess the avg electronic fail rate is closer to 15%. Not sure where I saw the .4%. Must have been a fan boy.
