Don't disagree with any of this. The disagreement here comes from my feeling that BUTOW captures a mood and feeling perfectly in the way few other songs, not just SG songs, do. So I'm not knocking BIMH or Head Down...I just see something in BUTOW that most of RM doesn't.
Im with you on BUTOW, I fucking love that song.

Here's the skinny. There was a Soundgarden bootlegs thread going on the PJ board that had stretched to 57 pages. That board is closing and I have no desire to register at the new board (I was only on the old board for this thread) so I decided to move it here. You'll find lots of links to bootlegs and lots of discussion about Soundgarden live stuff here, as well as organizing to surface/torrent new stuff.

Here's the March 10, 1989 CBGB's show:
http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/details.php?id=28589
Sound is a bit distant, but listenable.

Here's the setlist-it's the only show I have with Toy Box:
01. Intro
02. Gun
03. Flower
04. Thank You (Falettin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)
05. I Awake
06. Entering
07. All Your Lies
08. Kingdom of Come
09. Incessant Mace
10. Toy Box
11. Hand of God
12. Hunted Down
13. Free Bird/Beyond the Wheel
14. Sub Pop Rock City
15. Jam/Earache My Eye/Jam
16. Outro
---------------------------------------------
I uploaded the Soundgarden 10/18/96 Stockholm, Sweden show on zomb. I just noticed it's from the video of the show. Does anyone have the video that they would be willing to upload also? I missed it when it was on dime.
http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/details.php?id=28495

I'll get the other two uploaded over the holidays.
----------------------------------------------
A hearty Merry Christmas to all whether or not you celebrate it. I've taken the liberty of uploading a couple of Christmas presents:

#1: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=228807
#2: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=228806

The first has never circulated anywhere before. Even though the quality isn't as nice as I would like it to be it's an amazing show and a thrill to have the complete show finally, after all these years. The second was requested, but I also wanted to upload it because it's an EXCELLENT Superunknown tour show, one of the best.

Also, maybe you had this or maybe you didn't...this is an AUD of Soundgarden playing "Tears To Forget" from a show in Olympia in 1987. This is all that's out there for now. There's a short interview too about the Fopp EP and at the very end is a snippet of an interview with Mudhoney. I'm working on the full show; this makes a nice primer: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1xse3m

Finally, I'd love to extend a huge thanks to Sunshine for upping 10/18/96. That's been on my list for 8 years! Now for the video...

Here's the Salt Lake City show:

Thanks for the New York show, Matt! Can't wait to listen.

Somebody has the Honolulu show but it certainly isn't anyone here. The last show I or anyone here has (so far as I know) is 2/02/97 from Perth, the 4th-to-last show. Listen to that if you were wondering why they broke up.

Also, for those with torrenting abilities there are two new shows on DIME. Christmas in January!

So is that Telephantasm set worth grabbing? Popmarket has it up - for a fairly decent price....

Fair enough - my vinyl of Superunknown turned up yesterday, so I might just stick with that for now

Chamberlain drummed for that show...

Originally I was going to wait until the show to find out what Death Grips sounded like. Well, I ended up looking them up on youtube and... :| I'm glad I did because there is no way I'd make it through one song let alone a whole set. I guess I will either show up late or roam around until SG hits the stage. Does anyone here like them?

Mentioned this in the Superunknown thread, but not here just yet: there's a guy on eBay selling copies of the RSD singles box for pretty cheap; I haven't received my copy yet, but the seller has excellent feedback: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDGARDEN-SUP ... 43cb1bf954

It looks like DG broke up and wrote it on a napkin. It seems like a weird time for a band to break up, but I'm guessing/hoping this means SG will have a longer set. If that's true then I really have to get better by the 19th so I can see them.

Awesome choices. I think that Room A Thousand Years Wide is my favorite Kim song. Birth Ritual is an essential gym song, especially when running, it hits hard right from the get go. Limo Wreck (and Mailman) is an absolute BEAST live.

In no order, except for the first song, my top 5 would be:

Fresh Tendrils
Overfloater
Flower
New Damage
Taree

did he play the whole show? he can't have played any other Euro shows, surely?

This still does not make any sense.

Not sure.

I don't think so; McCready guested on Superunknown too, so I guess he and Matt flew in and are flying back out again pretty promptly as there's a Pearl Jam show in Belgium tomorrow...
LetMeSleep wrote:This still does not make any sense.
I know, right.

Had Pearl Jam had not been right in the middle of an album cycle, perhaps things might've worked out differently.

I still think this is a one-time only deal, I really can't imagine Soundgarden will use a replacement again. I'd expect Pearl Jam will be taking a pretty long break after the US tour winds up, in any event. Soundgarden's upcoming US dates begin the day after Pearl Jam's Euro tour winds up - I wonder if Chamberlain's going to complete the whole tour?

Someone alluded to a PJ guitarist guest appearance around June 18 at a SG show that Chamberlain played. It's all so random/haphazard. Chamberlain must feel like a sportman, get in shape and ready then get dropped just before the game.

I'm guessing Cameron did play the whole Hyde Park set; it appears their set was Superunknown in its entirety, as they've done a few times this year (always with him on drums).

I think the band told someone in the press that matt was going to play Hyde park. Was this the show with Black Sabbath and Faith no more?
