I wonder if I was 13 or 14 right now, would I discover Pearl Jam, and if so, would I like them?

In this alternate universe, has the band just released Ten or Lightning Bolt?
LB. because in the real universe Ten did come out when most of us were around 13 or so.

I was 5. My earliest memory related to Pearl Jam was my grandpa named his dog Pearl and my dad kept singing Jeremy around the dog.

I think, if I was thirteen right now, I'd probably still be really into St. Vincent. And my love for all things Annie Clark would lead me down a rabbit hole toward Pearl Jam. But I'm not sure I'd love Pearl Jam without needing to love other artists who were influenced by Pearl Jam. Does that make sense?
Like, I wasn't a fan of The Who until I was a fan of Pearl Jam and wanted to learn more about the bands that they loved.

STRONGLY disagree with this one - if they hadn't have toured with PJ in 2003 we wouldn't have The Woods.

PJ has definitely led me to music from previous generation(s) that I likely wouldn't have cared about otherwise.
