Norman Fucking Rockwell! is such a frustrating album. The first 2 songs are nothing short of incredible, Venice Bitch is good, and the rest is a snoozer, it's weird how hard it plummets to me when sonically it's always pretty samey

There are a few artists that I've accepted that 4 songs or so is enough. Lana is one of those. Rufus Wainwright is another.

that is EXACTLY who she is!

She was a guest DJ for a month (3 hour shows 4 x Sundays) on the station I listen to. She had a few interesting things to say but the whole vibe was noticeably "its all about me" and "aren't I so quirky and amazing". I suspect though that her willingness to discuss the most personal details of her past may rub some up the wrong way too. I listened for a 30 minute stretch and now know more than I could possibly need to know about her.

My old high school buddy made a very emotional post on social media about how his band has been working hard on their debut album for almost 2 years, and how much it means to him to finally finish and release it, and how these songs are his heart. And I just listened to it and it truly sounds like it's specifically made to be background music for corporate videos. If I didn't know any better I'd think these were pulled from audionetwork.com. Bummer
