After seeing TLJ this morning...

RIP Star Wars (in my eyes)

I think I’ve just realized SW isn’t for me anymore.

I'm kinda curious what would happen if I locked dime out of the Star Wars forum for a couple of days.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

You are the Rey of this forum. Just when we thought you might be lured to the dark side, you went straight back to being full of love and praise for the sequels. One can only wonder what would happen without you.

Rose was awful. What a non character...poor Finn he got relegated to a second rate character the whole movie.
Benicio Del Toro was wonderful as usual but he belongs in a better sequence than the casino one.

this is where inserting unnecessary actors in of different ethnic origins is getting shit.....youre putting them into the 'worst' parts of the film? seriously?

I don't know. The movie was terrible at giving meaningful answers, insisting instead on tearing down the past.

Skellig Michael looked amazing as Ahch-To, and with the scene stealing Mark Hamill in focus, it was a highlight of the movie for me. I didn't really laugh at the humor here, but the teaching scenes were good. Yoda appearing was cool as well, though I'm not crazy about burning old books and trees.

The most confusing part was the black hole. Reminded me of some scenes from Harry Potter.

The scene where Rose ends up stunning Finn, was the funniest in the whole movie for me. Great interplay between the two.

its luke in the cave on dagobah..its yoda on that weird planet ....all three end up facing themselves and their own problems and hubris.

reys scene out of the three is the best one of all these..

I didnt liked her character and her acting at all. They will try a romantic approach with Finn for sure...I hope Del Toro comes back in the next movie.

I’m not a new comer to RM. Just lurk a lot. I’ve kept up with this thread and finally saw TLJ and will elaborate on my opinion when ready.

I now understand Mark Hamill’s comment (paraphrased) “I fundamentally disagree with every choice for Luke in this movie.”

I’m sorry. I guess my expectations and excitement this time around for a new Star Wars movie is more tempered.

I saw TPM 16 times for crying out loud, trying to convince myself it was good.

I went in wanting to like TLJ. I didn’t read any reviews and tried to gloss over initial reactions in this thread, so I could go in clean.

Yes, this turns SW upside down and sets it down a new path. But it does that by destroying the OT. The original movies that all this stuff is based on. None of it would be here if it weren’t for those first three. TLJ shits on all of that.

It’s a gorgeous movie, but the template of a SW film is pure straight-forward narrative. The characters and story move from A to C. Now we have flashbacks and that god awful end with the kid in the stables looking at the sky, like it’s some kind of feel good movie ending. It totally goes against the episodic nature of SW.

But if you guys love it, that’s fine. It’s just funny when people are touting this as the best SW ever.

Even dime said in the TFA thread, when TFA was released, that it was great and that Starkiller was the Death Star, yes, but better! (Paraphrased). Starkiller was terrible too, and I like TFA.

I just don’t know if we’re at the point where people will love SW just because it has the SW name on it.
