I'm sure thinking it would be great to not have twelve hours lines to fucking vote.

We're still weeks away from election day. Why stand in line for hours? Just come back another day and try again.

The whole reason early voting exists is because many people have schedules that are quite inflexible.macphisto wrote:We're still weeks away from election day. Why stand in line for hours? Just come back another day and try again.

Our voting system IS fucking clownshoes, and when we want other countries' opinions about it, we'll bomb their opinions out of them.Orpheus wrote:Just a reminder that other countries think our voting system is fucking clownshoes, and it is.

Could have something to do with the President saying over and over again that he's trying to steal the election, but WHO KNOWS???macphisto wrote:We're still weeks away from election day. Why stand in line for hours? Just come back another day and try again.

Rs are the party of voter suppression and Ds are the party of voter fraud. It all balances out.

Like I said, stop spreading this bullshit."Widespread calls to conduct the 2020 elections by mail, to protect voters from COVID-19 exposure, are being met with charges that the system inevitably would lead to massive voter fraud. This is simply not true.
"Vote fraud in the United States is exceedingly rare, with mailed ballots and otherwise. Over the past 20 years, about 250 million votes have been cast by a mail ballot nationally. The Heritage Foundation maintains an online database of election fraud cases in the United States and reports that there have been just over 1,200 cases of vote fraud of all forms, resulting in 1,100 criminal convictions, over the past 20 years. Of these, 204 involved the fraudulent use of absentee ballots; 143 resulted in criminal convictions.
Let’s put that data in perspective. One hundred forty-three cases of fraud using mailed ballots over the course of 20 years comes out to seven to eight cases per year, nationally. It also means that across the 50 states, there has been an average of three cases per state over the 20-year span. That is just one case per state every six or seven years. We are talking about an occurrence that translates to about 0.00006 percent of total votes cast.
Oregon is the state that started mailing ballots to all voters in 2000 and has worked diligently to put in place stringent security measures, as well as strict punishments for those who would tamper with a mailed ballot. For that state, the following numbers apply: With well over 50 million ballots cast, there have been only two fraud cases verifiable enough to result in convictions for mail-ballot fraud in 20 years. That is 0.000004 percent — about five times less likely than getting hit by lightning in the United States.

Re: Election 2020
What’s really telling about that line is, if Republicans honestly believed that Democrats engaged in widespread voter fraud, they’d be pushing for real reforms instead of squashing election security funding (as they have three times this year alone) and sending the likes of Kris Kobach to get his ass owned in public. They’d be working to make it easier to identify fraud cases, easier to document fraud cases, and easier to consequence fraud cases.
Actively preventing American citizens from accessing their right to vote isn’t a tit-for-tat to fraud....it’s a further degradation of the election system and only makes sense if you know deep down that the reason you’re losing is actual voters. And if maintaining power is more important to you than the democratic process.

There's a pretty good report from the Trump's Justice Department that couldn't find voter fraud in the 2016 election when specifically commissioned to by Trump.Orpheus wrote:Where is your evidence?
