lmao I can’t believe anyone remembers that. I’ve watched a decent amount, I think it’s an interesting genre but a lot of it can be pretty middling and boring. I’ve found some gems, though, that are legitimately good movies.

My interest was piqued at the time as I was definitely looking for different stuff to watch.

And that tracks to what I would expect, I figure the fall from the well-funded endeavors to be pretty stark. Curious of the gems.

The two biggest standouts were probably Memories within Miss Aggie and Corruption, both of which are very dark and occasionally even disturbing. Very interesting movies. Aggie, in particular, I still think about regularly. Fleshpot on 42nd Street is also really great, though Andy Milligan is, uh, an acquired taste, to say the least.

A few more I thought were memorable: Tropic of Desire, Her Name was Lisa, Bijou, Public Affairs, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, and Score.
