Evil Dead Rise.

I had so much fun. Its a little clunky, and i didnt liked most of the cast and there were some weird moments but damn, looks really good, its fun, gory, scary and has some great scenes.

Another great movie from this franchise.

Now, lets get Mia back!

I might go to see EDR again this week.

Also the trailer for The Boogeyman got me interested.

Evil Dead (1981)

You still can see why this is a classic. Its an impressive debut for Raimi, even if the movie is dated and the budget limitations are clear. Bruce Campbell was already a star.

It's a B, plenty of good sequences but in desperate need of better character writing to match the plot.

I'd like to watch them all eventually anyways, but do I need to see any of the other Evil Dead movies before watching the new one?

no, you can see the new one and the reboot without having to see the originals.

Nice.

Is this like a Scream 6 situation where the new one is a sequel to the reboot?

Don´t you think Evil Dead Rise was very tame and safe in comparison to the others ED? I mean, It is a good horror movie, but not a very ED one, aside from the obvious references.

yeah, i agree that it should have been wilder. Also the deadites were different, but well, its a different book.

100% see this (again) in the theatre if it is shown relatively locally.

Evil Dead Rise was a bloody good time. It looked incredible, too.

I'm fine with all the gore, but I really did not like that cheese grater scene.
