Hunch: Something Special
Maybe because of the metal door clips, Something Special is the one I'm looking forward to the most.

I went back to the Twitter clip they posted before the single release and I have to say I think it's beautiful, even if it's just the album intro; if it sets the tone I think I'll have a good time

I love the intro music on Gigaton. It kicks things off perfectly and I still get excited when I hear it creeping in. I'm hoping this could be the same kind of thing.

I love it too; I kinda hope this clip is a bit more representative of the song it's part of than that intro was, but if not that's fine

Based on a sample size of 1 or 2 (lol):
Scared of Fear
Waiting for Stevie
Got to Give
Setting Sun
Wasn't Running talked about as well as being a standout?
The Spin article mentioned Running as one of the heavy tracks. Don't remember reading much else about it.
The album opens with the driving, major-key rocker “Scared of Fear,” with Vedder reminiscing to a subject only he knows, “We used to laugh, we used to sing, we used to crash, we used to believe.” And while arena-ready songs such as “React, Respond” and “Running” find Pearl Jam at their heaviest on an album in some time and “Waiting for Stevie” has an almost Singles-era classic Pearl Jam feel, Dark Matter also dials down the bombast with nods to the chiming, acoustic-flavored sound of the late Tom Petty on “Wreckage” and “Got To Give.” There’s even a song about parenting, “Something Special,” which Vedder said at the Troubadour was co-written with touring member Josh Klinghoffer.

I love that intro to Who Ever Said. That’s my favorite song from Gigaton. I think it’s one of the most interesting songs on there. I am sure that Twitter clip is at least a section of a song on the new album. I don’t think they would tease that for nothing.

2:56 - end of that track is so strong. One of the best moments on the record. The pinnacle being 2:26 - end in DoTC. Such a highlight for this band WRIT LARGE.
Then there's the sleepy meandering of River Cross until the very last minute that is just a head scratcher.....

I absolutely love the end of River Cross, but to each their own. To me, the loose jam of it feels very No Code era.

Wreckage, Running, and Something Special are all marked on Amazon Music for explicit lyrics.

I thought Something Special was about family? Maybe it’s Eddie yelling at his kids

Maybe he sings about finally f’ing that woman from Johnny Guitar and he uses that song as his way of telling his kids that their mom is actually someone else. That would be full circle.

That would be a great intro, but I hope that it’s an actual part of the last song on the album, especially given how it was described as a weird cross between Parting Ways, Retrograde, and Around the Bend. The vibes of those keys/organ makes that combination make sense.
