Naw.
There are those red guards, which usually means emperor, right? So maybe he's in it?

Right, that scene's gotta involve the Emperor somehow. But that guy's shoulders are too narrow for Vader, and Vader doesn't ever wear a hood over his helmet.

Yeah, I posted after only seeing the trailer once and now I see how it'd be tough for it to be Vader. Still, how could Vader not be involved in this film given that it takes place right before A New Hope. I mean, Vader was the bad guy leading the Imperial fight.

Exactly, it would only make sense if that black veiled baddy was in the original trilogy or at least mentioned in it. I guess you could introduce him and then kill him off in this movie...still, that doesn't sit right.

He's in the film. It should be a real bad ass version of him too.

Cool. I've been staying away from spoilers, but I'm happy to read this. The last thing we need a Revenge of the Sith type Vader appearance!

Yeah, I read somewhere that we'll see Vader really fight and do some serious damage in this. But it might have just been dime posting incoherently, so take it with a grain of salt.

Not that time. The rumour is we see him go full out in this decaptiating rebels in large numbers.

Ps I always hoped my Star Wars posts were coherent. Ah well

So we see him be a sword swooping space boss literally days before he is an old, past-his-prime damaged fighter who has a stumbling fight with another old man.

To be fair, I believe the time difference is more than just days. Tarkin looked decades younger (if that actually is supposed to be Tarkin).

But that's like 5 years prior to him being a badass again and almost taking down his own son who was in his prime and probably should've taken the old man out, no problem.

This could lead me to believe this will be a failed mission?

I'm not sure it is. The rumor is that they'll bring Peter Cushing back to play him using CGI and archival footage.
