I didn't read any of it. But I'll go on record as saying I'm all for whatever Rian wants to do. Maybe I'm setting myself up for a huge fall, but for whatever reason I have all the faith in the world.

It would be an interesting twist because I dont think we've seen an internal struggle for power among the rebellion/resistance or whatever in the Star Wars universe before.

I'm not sure. While I'd be all up for family orientated drama, this sounds too much like tv drama. I mean how well can you convey that kind of storyline in a two hour movie and make it accessible or interesting for all ages?

that's not exactly an unfamiliar plotline for a movie--just something we've yet to see so far in star wars.

Maybe. But power grabs and internal politics? Too loud an echo of the prequels. I know they'll avoid any similarity but the sense of 'too different' is already taking hold.
