The Thor one was exactly the same as Wonder Woman, you just like some nouns more than others.

I’ll probably never watch this but I’m happy the consensus is that it’s better and studio interference can go get fucked.

I just finished the first half, and damn this is so good. Looks incredible, there are some really cool new sequences, the characters are good, Steppenwolf is good...damn i forgot how fucking cool this Batman was.
Cant wait to finish it.

The first hour has been pretty entertaining. Glad each scene has more room to breath. Seems epic.

I felt a mild, simmering rage throughout my viewing due to the 4:3. The chances of this getting a wide IMAX release are not negligible but by no means a certainty. Snyder has to know the vast majority of the audience will see this only on HBO Max, on their TVs. I don't understand his thinking here. Yes, you are getting more image but at the expense of aesthetics. It gave the whole thing the feel of an unfinished workprint or deleted scenes reel versus a fully-polished finished product.
Overall, this is an improvement over 2017 but it's still a mess. C+. Add Hans Zimmer (the themes we've come to recognize--like Wonder Woman's--sounded like weightless cover versions), ditch the 4:3, reduce the amount of slow motion, redesign Steppenwolf so he doesn't look like a bad video game villain, cut about 45 minutes, and you could get this thing into solid B territory. I was pretty cold on the theatrical release of BvS but liked it more with each successive viewing, even moreso when the extended cut came out. Rewatching ZSJL may help improve my opinion but it's too much of a time commitment.
Regardless of all that, the beefed-up story was interesting enough to make me desire a sequel (as long as the emphasis is on the Knightmare storyline).

My buddy summed it up well: the SC took it from a D+ to a B-. I think I enjoyed it a little more than I would have if a shittier version hadn’t come out first. It was nice to see a character like Cyborg have an arc and reason to be there. He seemed shoehorned into the 2017 movie.
That Knightmare storyline looks bleak af.

So, did it end on a cliffhanger that won’t ever be resolved?

The chances of resolution were dead in the water after 2017. I still don’t think it’s likely we get a proper sequel but the probability is now above 0%. Flashpoint has to do very well.

Aquaman was decent, not amazing, but worth a watch. I think all the new DCU movies from Man Of Steel onwards have been fine or good. The worst one was the original Whedon version of Justice League.

Just finished it. Man, i cant believe Warner chose the other cut over this...i mean the other cut i garbage really and this is a really cool movie. There are some amazing moments, looks incredible, the cast is awesome...Those guys really dont know what to do with the DC Universe at all....the Whedon movie is one of the worst pieces of shit of all time, and this is fucking awesome.
Kudos to Snyder and everyone involved...also, really cool to see Affleck back. I love this take on Batman.

Amber Heard didn’t have that accent in Aquaman, did she?
