If you haven't yet, go check out 'Magic'. It's a really good album. Maybe the best of his recent stuff. I love it.

Joey, it's the unlisted track on "Magic," written for a member of Bruce's road crew after the track list had been finalized (I think). Definitely worth a listen.
"The world is filled with many wonders under the passing sun
But sometimes something comes along, and you know it's for sure the only one"
Adore that lyric.

Cheers guys. It was actually a pretty beautiful day yesterday - sun was shining and lots and lots of people there. I wasn't really close to him having been away for so long, but it was fantastic to see so many of his friends there and his close family are obviously incredible tight and strong. It was certainly more of a celebration than a mourning.
Had to laugh - he was a bit of a rev head and his family bought him a gorgeous sports Mercedes as a bucket list kind of thing (and Ruddo - this one was a real bucket list) and his brother was driving it as part of the procession. The license plate was personalised "EF CANCER" and my wife was going "Ef cancer - what does that mean? Ef cancer?" She finally got it.

That's a great story.

God damnit. That's one of my favorite River tracks. Such a fun, poppy, and upbeat song.
And what are mine? Chopped liver?
Middle of the pack?! Sorry.

I was just busting your chops but Ramrod is superior to sherry.

I'd put Ramrod and Cadillac in the bottom quarter of that album. Sorry fella.

Cheers, Higgs.
Yeah Terry was kinda Bruce's right-hand man so it was a huge deal when he passed. Him combined with Danny Federici and the Big Man was one helluva shitty trifecta.

Take 'Em As They Come
No real reason, other than it is a mighty fun outtake, as are most from the River sessions. The Jimmy Eat World cover of this is darn good as well.

I hadn't heard that before and couldn't understand why searching my Bruce Springsteen folder for "tame" I couldn't find anything...

I didn't listen to 'Tracks' for this here tourney. Maybe I'll listen today. Often times I prefer b-sides and outtakes over what made the albums, so I have a feeling I'll like a a bunch of tunes from it.
Going through all of this, I've enjoyed The River, Nebraska and Magic the most. Those plus Born In The USA just might be my favorite albums by Mr. Springsteen.

All G - I wasn't trying to rag on 'ya. I thought 'Tame 'em as They Come' there was a bit odd!

If you like River and BitUSA, you will love Disc 2 and 3 of Tracks. It's amazing this guy wrote so many quality songs for those two records.

No, it's a Steve Earle-ish Springsteen original from "The Rising."

Listening to Tracks now. Disc 2, track 1 and I'm already liking it. I think by the time things come back to me, I'll have last pick. I may have to go with something off this album.
