Me too, but part of me feels like it'll be any day now before a case pops up that they can't trace where it came from, then another...and another and next thing we're Italy all over again

Why else would you spell meat that way? And I guess a butthole can be octagonal if clenched a certain way.

This is the truth.
What tv show do you propose the lockdown parents teach their kids with, if not Daniel Tigers Neighborhood?
Frasier
Some of the cultural references in Frasier are too advanced I'm afraid for your average anti vax karen.
My only point here was in relation to paying people to stay at home. That is a genuine possible response to the current situation that has worked to control the pandemic in other countries.
You should pay us Higgs. All 330 million of us. For however long it takes. Do you use venmo or PayPal?
Well, I guess someone should be paying. I mean your own government can't get its shit together at the moment to sort out continuing to pay unemployment benefits.

How does it make sense? It could be appropriate to do that, it could not be. Is Google using modeling that is certain to be right somehow? If there is one thing we've learned from all of this it's that none of the experts have any clue what's going to happen. It's also not that big of a deal that a tech company like Google is telling all it's nerds to use their home computers to nerd. They are uniquely positioned to do so.

The idea that the tech companies have special predictive insight is silly, but the timing makes sense. Our best case right now is for a vaccine to be widely available by early 2021. Setting their return-to-work timing back to July allows them to plan projects and commit to infrastructure based on current conditions, and not end up reshuffling if the first round of vaccines don’t work out (or we run into distribution troubles).

A company with billions of dollars figured out that it's doing just fine while it's employees telework ... surely the virus will kill us all!
