Korean short ribs for 8 hours in the crockpot. Tasted more or less like a standard pot roast… I blame not having rice wine and sesame oil (subbed apple cider vinegar and olive oil). Need those Eastern flavors.

We finally ordered in Mexican. I got a chipotle chicken burrito that was very tasty, but definitely more a Taco Bell flavor experience than authentic. The wife got a pulled beef burrito, but as expected, the beef had no seasoning to speak of that would liken it to barbacoa, though she said the jalapeños helped liven things up. The bland beef seems to be a common issue here with Mexican dishes. We also ordered a side of salsa, fully expecting it to suck, and it delivered there. Watery and too much sweet not balanced out by the flavors and heat of the peppers.
