what's going on with chapman and the dodgers?

so Scott Boras . . . er . . . Kris Bryant just filed a grievance against the Cubs for manipulating the service time requirements. He's going to lose. He should be pointing the finger at his union for collectively bargaining this.

I also would have much rather they traded Buchholz, but that's a good trade for the Sox. Miley is a good innings eater, but not much more than that. With this trade they have what looks to be a great bullpen.

This is why baseball players make good money. They have a strong union that challenges things, rather than getting walked all over like the NFLPA.

Absolutely. I always thought it was silly that football, basketball and hockey players were paid much less than baseball player. They have a more demanding physical aspect to it. And they play through much tougher injuries. Hang nail injury?

I've never understood people calling out baseball players, particularly pitchers, for missing time with things like hangnails and blisters. It seems hilarious because, to most of us, it's a minor inconvenience. But to a pitcher, it has a massive impact on your ability to successfully do your job.

Yeah, you can't throw a slider with a hangnail. The grind that is a baseball season is more than enough to compensate for the lack of athleticism the sport has when compared to others.

There was a couple times when I had to stop him from quitting or going back to Cuba because he was lonely for his family. So I went through a lot of stuff with Chapman. I got nothing but love for the young man.

Obviously if the reports are true Chapman is a piece of shit and should be suspended for at least half the season, but, he denies it, the cops never charged anyone with anything, and he is a former player of Dusty's. Dusty could have worded things better, but I wouldn't get the pitchforks out for him just yet.
