Makes no difference to me - I'm probably not seeing it for a week or two after it's released. Just don't understand what makes this movie so different

I have just wandered into this thread for some unknown reason, I will never see this film as long as I live, but while I'm here I may as well say that spoiler-tagging posts of a film that has already been released is COMPLETE AND UTTER MADNESS.

If you don't want to know, just don't click on the thread. Just don't. It's that easy! Just don't.

I was going to make a point, but then I realized that this is the most boring argument of all time.

We're all grown-ups here, Strat. If people don't want to know about a film, don't open a discussion thread about it on the internet. It's not rocket science.

Because people are asking for it to be different.
I don't understand why this is so hard for people to grasp.

Can I request that everyone spoiler discussion in the Game of Thrones thread until I've seen each episode?

Hateful Eight comes out here two weeks after the US opening date. Could everyone just spoiler discussion in that thread until I see the movie next year? Thanks.

You can, but if you were the only one requesting it it would be ignored. However if a large portion of people in the GoT thread asked for spoiler tags until Tuesday, to give people time to catch up on the DVR, it wouldn't be unreasonable to just do that.

So who nominates this ridiculous arbitrary date?

What is the critical mass of boarders that legitimises a blanket spoiler request?

we will just create a new thread on Wed for those who have seen the movie. we will merge on Monday. I beg the forgiveness and forbearance of any poster made uncomfortable by this arrangement, and apologize for the incredible inconvenience and psychic harm this may cause
