It’s as if Jack Black has taken hold of the fabric of reality.

This is the truth.
What tv show do you propose the lockdown parents teach their kids with, if not Daniel Tigers Neighborhood?
Frasier
Some of the cultural references in Frasier are too advanced I'm afraid for your average anti vax karen.
My only point here was in relation to paying people to stay at home. That is a genuine possible response to the current situation that has worked to control the pandemic in other countries.
You should pay us Higgs. All 330 million of us. For however long it takes. Do you use venmo or PayPal?
Well, I guess someone should be paying. I mean your own government can't get its shit together at the moment to sort out continuing to pay unemployment benefits.
it's part of standard negotiation to wait until the last possible moment to strike a deal

but if AUS citizens or govt have advice on how to be so successful feel free to send a recommendation letter

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heal ... SKCN24R021
The US operates a system that on occasion requires Government Shut-downs for all but absolutely essential spending. This because the people who have been democratically voted in to govern are unable to agree to terms. Didn't the last one go on for a month or something? Who really needs garbage collectors anyway though.

You as citizens must love the "domination" tactics of last minute negotiation employed by your politicians. I mean, reasoned arguments and occasional compromise are way overrated in politics anyway.

I won't waste my ink on sending suggestions - it's obviously already a great system. The greatest in the world, probably. Everyone's saying it.

Tens of millions of Americans watching and sharing a video about pandemic cures by a person who claims endometriosis is caused by sex with demons in your dreams is pretty much all you need to know about whether or not we will survive a drastically changing climate.
I thought we were heading towards 1984, but in actuality it's Idiocracy

McConnell has more or less backed out of negotiations, saying he opposes one of the White House’s key demands and that it’s on Mnuchin and Meadows to negotiate with Pelosi.

Basically, he sees the whole thing falling apart and is trying not to get any of it on him.

I’m trying to find another example...anywhere in his career...of him taking such a move, because I really don’t think he has. Delayed legislation, government shutdowns, and a merciless willingness to let things break are his weapons of choice. He has an incredible ability to coordinate public need and timing for maximum leverage. So him stepping aside and refusing to support the Republican platform at exactly this moment in the negotiations, and on such major legislation, seems like a huge red flag to me.

Is this the video that Trump Jr tweeted out and got himself a 12 hour timeout from twitter because of it?

Still though, fella. I have friends who have gotten it. They did not enjoy it one bit. The whole being on their death bed for a few days. With having a stroke, you think you really want to get this bitch of a virus?
If there is a significant clotting risk for Rona patients all it does is level the playing field between me and everyone else. I take good care of myself. I'm good with whatever happens. If I get it there won't be any regrets on my part.

I saw some article that said everyone has neurological damage too but buried in the fine print was "headache" and "trouble sleeping" were considered neurological problems. So when you say heart damage what do you mean? And is 4 months enough to make any sort of solid determination on anything?

The answer is no. No you don't know shit. No no no

“We have no way of knowing the long term ramifications if you get sick” is a subpar argument for reopening.

Applying that logic, you don't know shit either then. Could be nothing but could be worse than we even know.
