There are shoes for that!Mickey wrote:Had to dial it back to walking today after some inner knee pain in both legs. I suspect I'm overpronating?

My dog has improved significantly. There are times she is dragging me (uphill)!Rangi Guy wrote:Got in just over 5km this evening. Took the dog with me, so my time was awful. She's good to run with for 2 - 3km and after that I'm pretty much dragging her
Just over 60km this month, so I'm happy with that
My usual route from the house there's a hill pretty much straight away - she good at pulling me up that, but that's about itBammer wrote:My dog has improved significantly. My knees and lower back hurt until I switched to low drop shoes. Changed for me virtually overnight when I went with Saucony Kinvaras (4mm differential.) Now I prefer Altras with even less differential (0mm.) Knees and back have never bothered me again. Everyone's got a different running style so don't take that for anything but a suggestion, but do a forum search for zero drop and you'll probably find a lot of discussion on here about it. Google too, but the real heads on RM have some good personal info.Mickey wrote:Had to dial it back to walking today after some inner knee pain in both legs. I suspect I'm overpronating?
kudossurfndestroy wrote:My first run in quite a while. My goal was to last the full duration of The ‘59 Sound. I did it, albeit at a slow pace. 5.67 km in just under 42 minutes. In my defence, I was trail running on the side of a hill and it was hillier than I really wanted. A start at least. There will be more.
Today's mostly seawall route has nice views and is pretty flat. Easy to forget that your tired if I let myself soak in the view of the beaches, harbour and mountains. Will keep working at the running. It can only get better.washing machine wrote:I see you on strava, snd. So jealous of the running options in your part of the world.
My favorite time/place to run is right before sunrise along a local bayou for that same reason. No intersections to interrupt the flow and it's easy to zone out watching a heron swoop down for a fish or just fixate on a mass of tallgrass hugging the banks.surfndestroy wrote:Today's mostly seawall route has nice views and is pretty flat. What kind of knee pain were you having? Mine is interior, just above and below the kneecap, so I think it's either bursitis responding to an uptick in activity or, more likely, my flat feet are overpronating still. I'm reading that low drops are not great for folks with low arches, but maybe I'll give them a whirl. Really I should just get off my ass and go do a fitting.washing machine wrote:My knees and lower back hurt until I switched to low drop shoes.
