The answer is no. No you don't know shit. No no no
Applying that logic, you don't know shit either then. Could be nothing but could be worse than we even know.
Lock er up

“We have no way of knowing the long term ramifications if you get sick” is a subpar argument for reopening.

Here's an article about 14 people in one family in Texas all getting it because someone who believed it was a hoax threw a get together with loved ones. Note: the guy wants us all to know that the virus is real.

To verb , I know that this story is not applicable.

Stories like this are just stupid though. The same scenario plays out with essential workers or just people going to the store. Everything you read in the news is meant to make you feel like you have to pick a side, to be scared, to hate. Fuck that shit.

I think you could be right there - lately when my girls come downstairs in the morning before anything else they start pointing at me laughing while chanting 'Farty pants! Farty pants!' - idiots!!!

This is the truth.
What tv show do you propose the lockdown parents teach their kids with, if not Daniel Tigers Neighborhood?
Frasier
Some of the cultural references in Frasier are too advanced I'm afraid for your average anti vax karen.
My only point here was in relation to paying people to stay at home. That is a genuine possible response to the current situation that has worked to control the pandemic in other countries.
You should pay us Higgs. All 330 million of us. For however long it takes. Do you use venmo or PayPal?
Well, I guess someone should be paying. I mean your own government can't get its shit together at the moment to sort out continuing to pay unemployment benefits.
it's part of standard negotiation to wait until the last possible moment to strike a deal

but if AUS citizens or govt have advice on how to be so successful feel free to send a recommendation letter

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heal ... SKCN24R021
The US operates a system that on occasion requires Government Shut-downs for all but absolutely essential spending. This because the people who have been democratically voted in to govern are unable to agree to terms. Didn't the last one go on for a month or something? Who really needs garbage collectors anyway though.

You as citizens must love the "domination" tactics of last minute negotiation employed by your politicians. I mean, reasoned arguments and occasional compromise are way overrated in politics anyway.

I won't waste my ink on sending suggestions - it's obviously already a great system. The greatest in the world, probably. Everyone's saying it.
And Parliamentary systems often require dissolution of their government and can't re-form one because they don't agree. But it's usually temporary, like the shutdowns. That's the nature of negotiations in a democracy. Sometimes you don't agree, and it takes longer to work it out.

I don't worry about last-minute negotiation tactics by 'my politicians', because this is the 10th+ year I can remember where people have stressed over a supposed apocalypse government 'no deal' and there always is one. Even if this comes a week or a month past the $600 cutoff, the show will go on. A deal will happen. And in the meantime, the Federal Reserve will do everything in its power, which is a lot, to keep things afloat.

What I am more annoyed about is chronic US-bashing - in the midst of a pandemic where 100,000+ innocent people have died - by crybaby commonwealth faux european wannabees that feel the need to prove they are societally superior to the US - based on their deep knowledge of internet news articles - to the point of obsession, and daily routine - their identities apparently dependent on establishing themselves as 'not the US' - meanwhile, their countries share many of the negative attributes plaguing the degenerate US new cycle currently, such as: record coronavirus deaths of their own, and systemic racism in their country - and also, a PM that sucks Donald Trump's cock - which is more pathetic than anything on this planet, because he can 'choose' not to, but does. Add to that a military dependency on the US, reliance on Russian and Chinese money to keep segments of their economies going, allegiance to a Queen, in the year 2020; and being unable stand up a respectable technology firm for the life of them - relying on US intellectual capital to fuel improvements in their standard of living - and it really just starts to look like a pathetic self-esteem problem.

Maybe the problem is not 'the US being better than everyone else' - maybe, just maybe, the problem is there are people who are obsessed with 'being better than the US' and apparently just can't look away because:
Spoiler: show
they know they are not better than the US
