That's a pretty scary lineup. It's no Jays lineup, but it's still pretty scary.
It's missing Zobrist.
Yeah, but it's not like you just get to plug Zobrist in. You have to remove one of Baez, Soler or Schwarber.

The Jays have the advantage of having a DH though, obviously.
The Jays aren't going to make the playoffs next year.

I wish the Cubs would trade Schwarber to an AL team. I love him, but he's so useless in the OF. Soler's not much better though. Decisions, decisions.

Jason Heyward is an awesome outfielder. He'll make up for poor range next to him.

guy in my office is from st. louis and keeps going back to what they gave up for heyward considering what Atlanta just got from Arizona. he's hating baseball right now.

The clubs probably cool with it. The Cards had a desperate need at RF to try and win a WS. Shelby had a great year (except for pathetic run support) and the Braves got a little lucky with the market. Not many teams would fit Heyward for 23 M a season, but he's probably as close as it gets in Chicago. People are always going to be disappointed with his bat but he's a great role player, so good on defense and in the clubhouse. With the money clubs make now, I'm happy to see guys get paid, I hope he helps the Cubs a lot.

or if they trade soler, which seems likely now, there's been news of baez playing CF in winter ball to get up to speed. then zobrist at 2B obviously.

Giants taking Cueto, too, supposedly for six years.

Their 5-man rotation (Bumgarner, Cueto, Samardzija, Peavy, Cain) is going to cost them $86 million in 2016.

I thought there was a chance Cueto would end up with the Red Sox, even after the Price deal.

Well, I felt like it would be Dombrowski-like if the market kind of flattened out for Cueto.

Looks like Chapman is going to the Yankees.

I dont really get this move unless a) there's a move in the works for Miller or b) the price for Chapman dropped ridiculously low.

Man, if they don't trade miller that bullpen could be absolutely ridiculous.

And they're still relying on A-Rod, Teixeira and a rotation held together with duct tape to hand them a lead. They're a weird team.
