I really can't fault anyone for not being detailed or coherent enough in their first impressions after one listen. I can't imagine myself doing any better. I need multiple listens to really absorb each song and hear all its nuances.

That's why just recording the whole thing and sharing the goodness with us is the way forward, so we can each make up our own minds.

I just decided I might go to a listening party today. Only thing is the record store is 90 min from the house.

The ones closer to me aren’t participating.

Ok just called the record shop that's 15 minutes from me, they said the listening party is at 2pm, so in about 2 hours. Maybe I'll go to this damn thing, I'll try to snag a copy of the album if I can, but don't think I have a way of ripping it. At the very least I'll try to take notes and give some real impressions

He didn’t like leak culture.

There’s a lesson in this.

Never did find out who that band were. It was a brilliant album
I’m really sorry for doing that to you, Dime. I don’t remember it but it sounds really shitty and I hope you’ll accept my apology. I’ve certainly downloaded leaks myself so I’m not sure what I was on about that day.

I thought I might just take a voice memo on my phone to record it, if possible. I doubt a record store would sell me a copy today.

I could maybe go an hour long voice memo, but should I be hiding it in my pocket, or am an asshole just openly recording it. And do you REALLY want that to be the first listen. I'd listen to a low quality leak but that's a bit much. The metal door was ok because it was just snippets

I’d listen to that, I don’t care.
I know that once the album drops the improved quality of sound will simply add to my enjoyment instead of taking anything away from it.
It’s a win-win situation.

Have I not been real.
Have I not been true.

That actual fact that we don’t know each other is completely irrelevant in this case, as anyone can plainly see.

I think what I really need from these listing parties is guidance on whether I should skip Something Special on my first proper listen and then add it back in the second time around.

My sarcasm detector is broken but I’ll take this on face value.

No harm no foul.

*the mystery album was better than the arcade fire album as it turns out. Think it was the suburbs

Wish I could find it again
