Casting call for next season has descriptions that fit the Tarlys, which could put Sam in Oldtown. I'd place my bet on the Maesters talking about it. No one has talked about the prince that was promised in the show yet.Simple Torture wrote:So has the "prince that was promised" ever been mentioned explicitly on the show? The best I can remember is Melisandre making references to Stannis being the only one who can stop the long night. Could you see Tyrion--a scholar who almost certainly would know about the legend of Azor Ahai--discussing the prophesy with Dany next week (implying that it could be her, but also some heavy-handed cutting for how it could be Jon too) and then in the space of two episodes, Dany flies away, Jon gets knifed, and Stannis' army is on the brink. Big cliffhanger to the end the season on the horizon.

Here's something fun. I'll put it in a spoiler because the books haven't actually gotten into this particular detail, really.

I don't remember that. What happened?Simple Torture wrote:And on a slightly different tangent: people in the show thread are talking about how the dead army couldn't get into the water. Was anyone else expecting the "dead things in the water" that Jon got a note about in the books?

I've said it before and I know I'm damn near the only one, but I desperately miss all the stuff with the Iron Islands and the Kingsmoot. I miss Asha/Yara and Euron and Victarion

Ok, so is The Night's King a White Walker or a Wight? Because as I understand it, the White Walkers (or Others) are a separate race, and the Wights are reanimated corpses that fight for them. The Night's King looks to be much more like a White Walker, yet at one point he was human...

A lot of people are going to be pissed when Jon meets up with Ollie again. I don't think he is going to die but it will leave a really bitter taste is people's mouths for the 9 months until season 6.

No, I was reading some show recaps then clicked a link that took me to a site talking about 'ADWD' where...durdencommatyler wrote:Are you not a book reader darth?

Re: A Song Of Ice and Fire (Spoilers for all Published Books
Would GOT ever do a post-credits scene? I'm thinking: there hasn't been as much of a focus on reincarnation/warging on the show (at least for years), so I think Jon's death will hit show-watchers pretty hard. But I'm sure every show watcher who knows at least one book reader would hear theories about how he'll be back. But a post-credits Lady Stoneheart scene would give show-watchers basically the same feeling that all of us have (i.e., death is not the end).

I'd be okay with a fade to black... several beats... everyone expects credits to roll... fade in to Stoneheart scene. Then credits with triumphant main theme playing!Simple Torture wrote:Would GOT ever do a post-credits scene? I'd hope they don't go back to the main theme for that when there's a perfectly good song for that momentdurdencommatyler wrote:I'd be okay with a fade to black... several beats... everyone expects credits to roll... fade in to Stoneheart scene.
