In no other sport does "if ya ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'" apply more than in college football.

The playoff rankings stink of SEC bias

The playoff rankings are intended to make you watch this weekend, they don't matter until after the 1st week in Dec

The rankings technically don't matter now but it still doesn't mean the ranking system has some serious issues. It's dismissive to say it doesn't matter. It obviously matters or else they wouldn't have a hour long bs session on it and it matters to teams, the players, and the coaches.

Too many games left to get too worked up about these rankings.

They showed last year though that the final rankings don't have really anything to do with the initial or even the weekly rankings.

Ohio State opened at 16 last year.

They chose teams that won championships over either Big 12 team that were possibly more deserving than others in the playoff because the Big 12 decided not to name a champion.

LSU/Alabama play this weekend, Michigan State and Ohio State play eventually, Clemson has FSU this weekend. It's a little stupid to even have these rankings.. it's nothing but marketing for ESPN. Most of this is going to work out. Even with the computers in the BCS, it usually did accomplish what it set out to do.

The Big 12 has the biggest gripe again today, but they will have a champion this year, it remains to be seen whether they will choose a Big 12 champion over champion of none Notre Dame.

Yeah I'm aware of that. And that's great and all but it's just a very slippery slope to rank Alabama that high after having such a huge and awful loss. If it doesn't matter than don't do a ranking until much later in the season.

And it was a really fluky loss. They muffed like 2 or 3 kicks that gave Ole Miss tremendous field position.
