Is McCarthy safe after Green Bay gets embarrassed out of the playoffs?

I've never thought McCarthy was anything more than a "decent" coach.

Both of my Sheboygan born, packer fan brother-in-laws have been in the "good despite subpar coaching" camp for years. I don't think he's bad, but I think he's the weak link in the players-coaching-management chain.

So, it seems Jason Licht called Lovie Wednesday night and told him the meeting the Glazers in the coming morning would not go very well for him. Lovie got in touch with the Glazers and told them he didn't need to meet and that he would prefer to do get this over with.

Makes more sense than the Glazers calling him and telling him he's fired.

Yeah but ESPN won't backtrack after making a big deal about him being fired over the phone. God I hate that network

Well wait till you see the fucking Sporting News:

I have my own issue with the Sporting News - mainly because they are a awful, pathetic, slowly dying publication and I want Matt Hayes to die in a fire.

"What part of the game is that?" he asks. Stupid. What "part of the game" is any of the front office stuff, then? Please tell me that was a reader opinion and not an official journalist op-ed?

Bucs interviewing Harold Goodwin today. I guess they have to interview a minority candidate before making the Koetter hire official?

That makes more sense to me than dumping Lovie for Koetter.

I find it hard to believe that he is leaving his team 3 days before the national championship to interview with the Bucs.

I don't know, I haven't seen anything else indicating he is in Tampa for an interview.

I meant that "Tampa Bay Insider" isn't associated with any reliable news outlet.

i wouldnt be shocked if the Bucs did try to talk to Saban, but that tweet is fake as hell

even if he gets laughed at Licht needs to at least make calls to big names like Saban, Meyer and even Harbaugh
