Apart from a few jazz albums and the Blonde Redhead album that Jorge recommended to me, I don’t know that I’ve really listened to much from 2023 either, though admittedly I am getting way worse about paying attention to when things come out. But Wolfgang Muthspiel’s “Dance of the Elders” on ECM is probably the 2023 release I have enjoyed the most. Just plain lovely stuff.

For me, I would say that there was a lot I really enjoyed from 2020-2022, and this year is a bit of a down year. Some good albums, but very little that blew me away.

I've listened to 60 albums released in 2023. I've liked most of them and I've loved about a dozen. It'll be really difficult to "rank" them this year. I might just do tiers.
