i've never listened to his solo stuffverb_to_trust wrote:I'm seeing Tweedy next Wednesday. Wilco/Jeff were also a major influence for me going back to 2000 or so. I'm hoping seeing Jeff will cleanse my pallet after what has been a pretty rough week.
it's not great. wilco is the best though. saw tweedy solo a few months ago and it's never bad.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i've never listened to his solo stuffverb_to_trust wrote:I'm seeing Tweedy next Wednesday. Interesting. I don't think I would nominate myself for the RM Hall of Fame. I mean, I have my niche, and I would be honored, but I don't think of myself as a poster who really embodies all facets of the RM experience. Do you get a trophy or something, or some prize money? I could definitely walk back some of my statements about Ryan Adams if there was potentially some prize money in it for me.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:yesKevin Davis wrote:There's an RM Hall of Fame?lennytheweedwhacker wrote:kevin davis is losing followers...this does not bode well for his 2019 RM HOF campaign
This kind of spineless pandering isn’t going to help your case, KDKevin Davis wrote:Interesting. I don't think I would nominate myself for the RM Hall of Fame. Wisenbacker has been working with Adams for a few years, and he’s also one half of La Sera with his wife, the Vivian Girls member Katy Goodman. (Adams produced La Sera’s 2016 album Music For Listening To Music To.) As Pitchfork points out, Wisenbacker has shared an Instagram post captioned “This is incredibly hard for me to do but Ryan please get help.” In that post, he wrote this:
There were times when I chose to believe his insane version of the truth because it was easier than believing that anyone is capable of being this much of a monster. It’s sickening and embarrassing. I’ve recently learned that pretty much everything he’s ever told me is a like upon a lie upon a lie. There are excuses and denials for everything. Some time ago I told him to get help and he asked me to help him. I don’t regret and will never regret trying to help someone in real need- I believe in forgiveness, redemption and recovery, but my life has become a complete shitstorm of someone else’s utter delusion. I didn’t want to say anything because I’m actively afraid for the safety of my family, but I do realize that I have a responsibility to speak up. The women that spoke out are brave beyond words.
Yet totally_tod is totally ok with Jimmy PageStrat wrote:https://www.stereogum.com/2032554/ryan-adams-guitarist-todd-wisenbacker-my-life-has-become-a-complete-shitstorm-of-someone-elses-utter-delusion/news/?fbclid=IwAR00-CO1Mp_8fd8nweV2ErTttG_jgFV2yRmC1qnlB8P_r6mpAPexVDyR0yA
