Man, the dude with CF....if that doesn't make me stop making excuses why i dont feel like going for a run, or not pushing myself a bit harder...

Yeah, that was pretty special.
For awhile my dad was running while he was battling brain cancer. We had a short run (about a mile) when I took him to the Grand Canyon. 10 minutes I will always cherish.

Did a very rare full weights session (upper body) tonight, then hit the sauna for a full hour. Completely drained. I'm gonna be sore in the morning.

Seated crunches, lat pull-downs, bicep curls, bench press, shoulder press, butterfly pec press (I think that's what they are called) and tricep pull-downs. All on machines except for the bicep curls. Low weight, high reps.
Also, planks and dorky looking bicycle crunches before and after.

Day off today

one last long run tomorrow, circuits Wed, short run Thurs.

Sat: 6.5 mi mud run in Wisconsin. Forecast is high of 43, i start at 930. my nuts are already numb.
last long-ish run today. i think i did about 6.25, but i was hoping to feel better. i feel like i am psyching myself out/thiinking too much...i need to relearn how to zone out.
had a great final, short easy run today. I felt amazing. It was cool, rainy and wet. I ran through some major puddles to get my feet soaked. I probably did 3.5 miles.

I am as ready as I am going to be for Saturday...still hoping it is at least sunny and not windy. No avoiding its going to be cold as a witch's tit

Went to the gym last night despite some nasty weather. Did treadmill and then weights instead of my usual other way around. The top of my left knee start hurting during my routine so I let up on my legs. Not sure exactly what it was but it didn't feel right at all. It was fine afterwards though.

Awesome bike ride in to work this morning. Still trying to process some of the adrenaline. Had a couple instances shooting the gap between buses and cars that scared the crap out of me but it sure gets the heart beating and makes the ride fun.

I have noticed on my last few trail runs that my balance is pretty shit. That is undoubtedly because of my disgusting wine belly. So yeah, ab/core work is important to me.

10 miles in 80 minutes + 30 minutes of stadium steps

I knew it was too hot by the time I left, so I took it easy. It was a pretty fucking miserable run. I was only doing 8:30s at the end. 37 out. 43 back. Felt guilty about my lack of effort, so I drove over to the high school and did stadium steps. There is a water fountain at the bottom of the middle section, so I gutted out 5 minutes, then took about 15 seconds to down as much water as I could, then did 5 minutes more. I was wasted at the end and almost passed out walking back to the car. I then spent 2 hours jumping on the trampoline with my kids.
