Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars
Searched a local ad site.
Found a guy selling clone wars season 1-5 set on dvd for €30. It’s about €100 new.
Got him down to €20. That’s a steal.
Meeting him in the morning to collect
Gonna be a pain on the ass watching it in the chronological version on dvd, cos you have to keep switching discs. But it’ll be worth it
Score
now just have to get the Lost missions on dvd (its season 6 and has the best some of the best episodes. Season 7 is gonna be awesome)

Just went to collect em. Expecting a guy my age or obvious nerd like me.
A little old lady turns up! In her 70s! She’s either over Star Wars or must have been cleaning her grandkids room out or somethin.
Can’t wait to get into them

This is so cool. Loads of the episodes have little featurettes with Filoni talking about the characters and the crew talking about the designs n stuff. And talking about what George wanted and could / couldn’t happen in the episode. This set is awesome.

I have them on blu-ray, saw them when they first came out. I agree that they are excellent, both lots of the episodes specifially, but also the releases themselves.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars
So I’m doing the chronological order and man does it flow better and just works better.
This series is so good. The biggest haters I know complain the characters look like N64 but only today I’m really noticing all the beautiful sets and scenery and direction.
It’s fucking stunning most of it.

Once I started to key into the scenery and direction/art direction, I began to fall head over heals for the show. That's where this show is at.
I'm really hoping that after it's completely wrapped up, after this new (final?) 12 episodes, they'll release a new box set with everything in the correct order. I'd really love that. Probably a pipe dream, but it would be awesome.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars
I’ll buy it again if they do.
Just watched a two part episode where Anakin and some troops and Ahsoka crash on some planet colonised by little aliens (with really bad Irish accents ) Jedi crash/defenders of peace
There’s one shot Anakin pulls a clanker to him with the force and impales him on his lightsaber. Shit like that. Awesome. But the background and landscapes. Stunning.
Then you watch the making of that episode after and hear all about that artist and director (and George takei doing the voice of the separatist general) it’s so worth it.
I love the making of stuff as much as the Star Wars of it all so I’m biased.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars
Force Center answered a question recently about what kind of content they want to see on the Streaming Service and Joseph mentioned wanting to see more making-of/BTS and docu-content on the channel. I would love that. Some of the best Star Wars stuff is the documentary stuff.

Oh my god. I would watch that all day.
I found an OT dvd set the other day in a second hand shop and it had Empire of dreams among the special features.
I don’t have that on dvd. I’ve onky seen it on YouTube. That’s THE good standard and beginning of all the making of stuff.
I must go back and get it.

ID love to know the release history. The one I have is the twin set. You get the special editions IT and the bonus disc is the original unaltered cinema release. Lucas put a stop to them being included quite quickly so the story goes. I guess different regions got different stuff.
The empire of dreams doco was lit release with the set here afaik

1/3 through my chronological rewatch. Man there’s some amazing stuff in here. Episodes like weapons factory and legacy of terror and brain invaders, just brilliant cinematic direction and storytelling.
It all looks so stunning and it’s heavy shit but so worthwhile.

Immense improvement. It all makes far more sense and the arcs so much more satisfying
