Yea, Pearl Jam has been a band for 22 years? 23? Dave A was part of it for 4?

Matt now has 15 years and 5 albums with the band under his belt. Isn't that pretty much his sound garden tenure?

I really have no idea what these assholes would do if Matt quit at this point.

Those 4 years pretty neatly spanned the height of their fame, however.

It's perfectly understandable for people to see Abbruzzese as a very important part of the band's history. He had a pretty considerable impact on the sound of the records that he played on and had a hand in writing one of the band's most recognised songs.

Sure! He did a lot of post Ten session shows. Did all of Vs and drummed on Vitalogy. He's definitely an important part of their story.

Unless there's something that's gone unreported so far about his departure from the band, I do think they appear to have treated him quite poorly.

I really just think it was a massive personality conflict. Which doesn't excuse anything. But I've gotten the feeling that most (by which I mean, Ed, Jeff and possibly Stone) didn't really want him around from damn near the beginning. But, yeah, I don't totally disagree with you. Based on what we know, it seems a bit shady and immature.

But I really do believe it was more than just 'Ed didn't like the guy.' But that was probably the genesis.

Im pretty sure ed has said they wouldn't continue if Matt left, but that could have just been stuff he said to make Matt feel important, but after all these years Matt is pj's drummer and the others were just fill ins until they found him.

I like Binaural quite a bit. It's a 7.5/10 album for me. Maybe an 8.

The idea of seeing Dave for one show just to see him play with pj since i missed it in the early days would kinda cool, Jack would be the only person other then Matt i would want to see full time in the band

So what else can we bitch about ? My only current complaint is having to wait 3 months to hear the new album, that's a long as time

So basically everyone is missing my point. It's not me needing to "let go" of losing Dave A. I like Matt. I want Matt to stay in the band. I just wish Dave was acknowledged a little more directly. Just like Jack and Matt have put their stamp on how the band writes songs so did Dave on Vs. and Vitalogy. Those albums would not sound the same without him and since most fans would agree those are two of the best that seems like a big deal to me. Maybe some of the onus is on Dave too. I'm sure it is. For all I know they may have asked him to participate in PJ20 and he declined but somehow I doubt that.
