I tend to think of HTTT as middling in the abstract but then I look at the tracklist and remember it's got a ton of great songs

The first half of King of Limbs is incredible then it gets incredibly boring when you hit Codex.

Absolute bangers til then however.

Bloom is one of the best things they ever did.

I like Myxomatosis, We Suck Young Blood and The Gloaming but the rest doesn't do anything for me.

I'd move King of Limbs up a few spots, but the other albums are in the exact order I'd put them.

You should get In Rainbows, Dougray. 4 fingers and headphones. You'll convert.

Hail to the thief is the least interesting of their record once Radiohead decided they weren't going to be a grunge rock band.

but when it was released it was...uh...a return to form? That felt exciting It doesnt hold up but its still a nice listen on occasion.

i was super bored with it. I do remember the Return to form because of the guitars but...nope. In Rainbows seems the album were they go back to melodies. Thats maybe why i was so disappointed with KOL and i liked the last one so much.

KING OF LIMBS OKAY just does nothing for me. The songs are super jagged and disjointed and rub me the wrong way.

In Rainbows is perfection. What a beautiful album.

I don't either, really. Though I bet I'd enjoy it if I listened again.

Top 3 are basically interchangeable. I don't agree with Amnesiac>Kid A, nor HTTT>The Bends.

What does going back to melodies mean and at what album did they stop doing melodies? Vocal melodies? Guitar melodies? Melodies in general?

Hail To The Thief has super great heights (2+2=5, Sit Down Stand Up, Where I End And You Begin, There There, A Wolf At The Door) but very boring lows (a lot of the other songs).
