You all who torrent movies...are you watching them on a computer, or a big screen monitor/TV? Cause fuck watching movies on a small screen. Even at home on an HDTV they're not as good.

If you have a good set-up, they really are, honestly. I've never seen a movie in a theater look as good as a Blu-ray on my TV at home.

I wasn't actually prepared for how brutal "Beasts of No Nation" was. I was left gasping at the inhumanity of it all. Not really sure how I feel about it. I'm kinda numb.

I'm a sucker for boxing movies (who isn't?), but I enjoyed Southpaw. Maybe not one of the best movies of the year, but certainly worth seeing. Especially if you like Jake Gyllenhaal.

i was thinking about seeing southpaw after work tomorrow at the dollar theater, hoping there would be a showing around 4:30...but it's just 3:45 and 7:30

Crimson Peak.
What a waste..such an obvious movie. Everything seems lifted from another movie and the story is such an obvious one,,its makes me mad that some people are calling this one a very creative masterpiece.
Guys, Del Toro is fucked. When is the last time he made something good?

Yep, I'm totally with you. Shit movie.
As far as his last good movie, I enjoyed Pacific Rim but didn't think it was anything great. I think Hellboy II is his best movie, though. He just needs to stick to action-fantasy material and never make "serious" fare like CP.

well i liked pan`s laberynth and mimic and the other spanish movies he made. And yes, Hellboy 2 is nice...Pacific Rim? Boring.
But i guess i realized he is not the guy i thought he coule be 10 years ago.

I'm not a fan of his Spanish output; he's not good at scary or serious. I don't think he came into his own until Blade II.

The Devil's Backbone was pretty fantastic. Actually, that one and Hellboy might be the only two movies he's made that I like. Though I haven't seen Hellboy II or Pacific Rim.
