I was in a bad mood the day after I saw this. Like a really bad mood. Maybe that's my subconscious telling me I didn't like it.

Again, I liked it. Just left feeling like there should have been more substance, especially with some "main" characters.

I kinda feel like I don’t have a handle on any of these characters or their motivations. Luke is especially vague. The development of everyone has been very weak. Ren is the most interesting, but even he is not being used to his full potential.

Yeah and Finn and Poe were just in this movie because they survived the last one it felt like

Poe went through a lot in this movie. Necessary growth to become the leader the Resistance needs.

LoathedVermin72 wrote:One thing that is sticking with me is how small-scale this movie is. It feels almost cheap and claustrophobic. Johnson doesn’t seem to think in scale or spectacle. Even the climax - it’s like a handful of walkers against one door. It’s downright tiny compared to the sprawling imagination of previous SW movies. He seems to have trouble juggling multiple balls at once in terms of action and location. As much as I hate TFA, even Abrams was better at this.
that's what you end up with after fly boy poe dameron's already laid waste to the bulk of the resistance

Did he though? He fought that big ship. Then basically disappears for the most part until his stunned ass wakes up on Crait

That's something I didn't quite understand either. Why didn't they trust Poe? Were they further punishing him? Why treat him like a child?
